POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager of Global Purchasing will guide the Chemical Analysis Division’s Purchasing team in all aspects of direct purchasing. The Sr. Manager of Purchasing supports around $300M in spend and 13 manufacturing sites across the globe.Directing a forward-thinking global purchasing team of professionals, the individual’s responsibility includes strategic vision, operational planning and execution. They will guide a team of purchasing professionals deployed in the sites.

The incumbent is responsible for the purchasing processes, systems and results across the Division to include strategy development and implementation, common process definition and deployment, purchasing organizational development and leadership and delivery to support the company’s business model, strategies and financial operating plans.

The Sr. Manager of Global Purchasing will continue the Company’s evolution in best practice purchasing capabilities and organizational development. Purchasing activities will be driven from a global perspective to continue to maximize leverage and overall effectiveness of supply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and implement short and long-term organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies and operating procedures

  • Establish mechanisms to address supply assurance plans and escalations as needed

  • Develop supplier relationship management

  • Partner with sites to execute manufacturing plans

  • Accountable for their annual savings targets

  • Strong partnership with the global procurement/sourcing organization to mitigate risks and maximize value

  • Standardize the purchasing function among the sites and businesses

  • Collaborate with sites to drive and support fulfillment strategies including inventory metrics

  • Drive all key performance metrics such as on time shipment, annual savings, quality targets

  • Provide and approve inputs the terms into supplier management agreements

  • Point of contact for purchasing activities on the Divisional Operations Leadership Team

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Proficiency with the English language

Position requires Domestic and International travel up to 50%

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Business Logistics or a related area or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of experience in purchasing / inventory planning with at least five or more years of experience managing Managers.

  • Expertise in Purchasing, Supplier collaboration, development and compliance.

  • Dynamic, high energy leader with a track record as an effective communicator and uses a collaborative approach to problem solving.

  • Persuasive leader with strong influencing skills.

  • Superior analytical and computer skills with experience utilizing analytical tools (MS Access and SQL Server preferred) and databases along with an in-depth understanding of manufacturing (MPS/MRP…).

  • Results oriented, metrics driven leader with a root cause, permanent fix approach, continuous improvement approach.

  • Must have experience and be comfortable in a highly structured/procedural environment.
