Facebook Global Data Center Asset Quality Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

Facebook is seeking a Quality Engineer that is responsible for working with our global partners to develop world class quality for Facebook’s data centers. Our global fleet of data centers serve as the foundation upon which we meet the demands of our customers, with the Quality Engineer being responsible to support multiple data centers and suppliers. The Quality Engineer role performs technical work as an individual contributor in support of the sites. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in the quality field, preferably with experience in operation of critical facilities or manufacturing. They will also be able to facilitate problem-solving discussions, provide technical solutions, guidance to the team, drive global standardization initiatives, and function in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Provide quality management process support for data centers, suppliers, and supporting teams from an operations perspective.

  2. Facilitate or perform failure investigation and root cause analysis for equipment related failures.

  3. Become the liaison between data centers, external suppliers, cross-functional partners, and the Quality team.

  4. Perform data analysis to support asset management, auditing, design, retrofit, and supplier programs.

  5. Ensure consistency in Work Order Data Quality in coordination with the data center equipment Subject Matter Experts.

  6. Support construction QA/QC team regarding supplier quality issues.

  7. Provide site level reporting and communications.

  8. Develop and manage department dashboards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

  2. 10+ years of experience addressing equipment issues in mission critical operations or manufacturing environment using quality management tools to identify and solve problems

  3. Track record of leading cross functional teams with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve successful solutions using problem-solving and project management tools, with proven interpersonal and organizational experience

  4. Experience analyzing data to identify quality trends, confirm effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions, confirm equipment reliability, and create metrics that drive customer value

  5. Experience with reviewing and applying lessons learned to prevent occurrence in future equipment

  6. Experience with identifying gaps in a Quality Management System and able to create and implement department processes, procedures, and standards

  7. Experience with developing and delivering technical training programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with standard data center equipment

  2. ASQ Certification in ASQ CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE or Black Belt

  3. Proficient with JMP or Minitab statistical software
