We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer that exhibits great problem-solving skills, a 'can do' approach, and thrives in a high energy environment. In this role, you will work with a team of experts, supporting various geo-environmental investigation, design, and construction projects, that include soil, sediment, and groundwater remediation. Willingness to periodically travel to field sites is expected.


  • Performs a variety of civil/environmental engineering tasks to complete remedial designs for hazardous and solid waste projects including landfills, barrier walls, excavations, and solidification projects.

  • Develop and / or oversee investigation programs.

  • Analyze and interpret laboratory geotechnical test results.

  • Review boring logs and develops subsurface soil profiles.

  • Perform geotechnical engineering calculations, such as slope stability, settlement, and sheet pile corrosivity.

  • Assist in developing design drawings and writing technical specifications.

  • Write technical design reports and memos.

  • Complete investigation and construction field assignments (as needed),

  • Obtain the necessary management skills to grow into a Task Manager / Project Manager / Technical Lead position.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the project team.

  • Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to achieve incident-free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both client and Parsons.


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or related field.

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred (not required).

  • 2 to 7 years of related work experience in remedial design and construction.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software and various computer software applications.

  • Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred, but not required.

The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $75,000.00.Benefits for this position include: medical, dental, vision, paid time off, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401K.
