Responsible for managing the preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statements for the Wells Fargo (WF) Funds. Duties may include: managing external fund accountant/custodian and oversight; educating team on new pronouncements, regulations, and disclosures; expense management; providing technical accounting support for highly complex transactions; ensuring regulatory filing compliance guidelines are followed; primary liaison with external auditors and internal department managers. Acts as a technical expert for senior management on highly complex financial reporting issues.
Oversee the preparation of and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting (including annual and semiannual financial statements, semiannual SEC filings, Quarterly SEC filings and N-CEN Filings) on behalf of the WF Funds.
Oversee the review of the Funds' custodian bank and transfer agent activities to ensure accuracy of all NAV calculations for the WF Funds and participate in projects to continue to help the funds grow.
Oversee the preparation of dividend calculations and declarations for the WF Funds and ensure their accuracy.
Direct the monitoring of the Line of Credit for the WF Funds.
Participate and assist in the management of vendors and service providers including the custodian, printer, fund accountant and auditors to ensure ongoing quality service.
Maintain a proactive relationship with Portfolio Management, Legal, Marketing, Compliance and other departments within Wells Fargo.
Participate in special projects, including but not limited to fund mergers, new product launches and proxy solicitations.
Develop, motivate and manage the staff and their careers.
Participate in various committees (Security Lending, Line of Credit, Dividend, etc.)
Assist with reporting to the Board of Trustees.

8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: accounting or fund/financial reporting, in the asset management industry
4+ years of leadership experience
Basic knowledge and understanding of the regulations governing the fund industry
Fund reporting and fund administration experience
Strong networking ability with business partners
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High level of initiative and accountability
Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
Solid problem solving skills
