Morgan Stanley Floating Rate Analyst and Trading Assistant in Boston, Massachusetts

BASIC PURPOSE
Provide trading and systems support on the bank loan trading desk.Job responsibilities include: research/analysis, trade recordation and allocation; compliance monitoring; and maintaining information and portfolio management systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process trades through trade and portfolio management system.
Examine and confirm trades against fund and account compliance.
Review cash balances and cash flows of various funds for reporting to Portfolio Managers and Traders.
Perform trade desk research and monitor portfolio investments through Bloomberg, rating agencies, and other news sources.
Reconcile portfolio holdings from various sources.
Coordinate with portfolio pricing and operations teams.
Build and maintain relationships with Wall Street sales, trading and capital markets contacts; and keep PM and analyst teams apprised of primary transactions, secondary flow, and portfolio news.
Develop a deep knowledge of leveraged credit markets, CLOs, industry sectors, and portfolio strategies.
Other department projects and functions.
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record.
Solid organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
Strong desire to learn and ability to adapt to dynamic market conditions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to take initiative and solve problems.
Strong analytical skills.
Must be a team player.
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
