Wellforce Financial Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

The Financial Analyst is responsible for carrying out financial analytical support for all areas of Finance including Managed Care Finance, Decision Support, Budget, Charge Control, and Reimbursement. The position works with physicians, researchers, and managers regarding patient level utilization, clinical cost accounting, and system utilization. In collaboration with key stakeholders the team member will be responsible for Wellforce’s cost accounting standards and ongoing improvements. The Analyst will also be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the Wellforce cost accounting system.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with team members to maintain the decision support system and related database. Tasks include loading data, auditing data and running various checks to make sure information is accurate before opening the database for utilization by others.

  • Utilizing the decision support system and database, produce assigned management reports at various intervals (weekly, monthly, quarterly).

  • Work with department managers to understand reports and data distributed and to assist in formulating action plans based on information produced including development of timelines and data needs for monitoring progress.

  • Assists in the development of the five year financial plan that is updated annually that ties to the Wellforce Strategic plan

  • Reports key volume statistics and surveys for the system

  • Contribute in system improvement and/or implementation of new technology.

  • Respond to ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and other similar or related duties as required or directed.

  • Works with department manager on financial analysis for new and existing programs. Support all aspects of the analysis including capital investments, staffing analysis, other operating costs, statistics, and net revenue assumptions, in order to develop contribution, break-even, and ROI analyses.

  • Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group’s achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.

  • Performs other similar job related duties as required or directed.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • 1 - 4 years of finance or decision support experience is required

  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed healthcare organization is desirable

  • Proven track record of working with key stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and communications skills
