Wayfair Financial Analyst, Physical Retail in Boston, Massachusetts
<p><em>This position will be based in our Boston, MA office. Employees will work in the office at least 4 days per week and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.</em></p>
<p>The Strategic Finance team develops business models and strategies for Wayfair’s new business segments and major supply chain initiatives. This person will assist in several critical and highly visible analytical projects for Wayfair’s newest business segment - Physical Retail Stores. This is an opportunity to operate in a “start-up” type role as we continue to embark on this new venture.</p>
<p><strong>What We Do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The Physical Retail Finance team serves the CFO function for the Physical Retail business, influencing decisions through analysis and modeling to ensure business partners meet the financial objectives of the organization</li>
<li>The team owns the Physical Retail P&L, working cross-functionally to optimize profitability, establish financial goals and evaluate new strategies</li>
<li>We collaborate with Physical Retail stakeholders to cover key financial metrics, and ensure the understanding of business performance, strategies, processes, and planning</li>
<li>We own the quarterly forecasting process for the physical retail platform, coordinating across the organization to establish goals and ensure consistency, accuracy, and accountability.</li>
<li>We partner with stakeholders across Store Operations, Marketing, Pricing, and Real Estate to optimize our spend across all facets of the retail business</li>
<li>The successful candidate will have an analytical mindset, enjoys solving problems, is comfortable working with data, and is interested in helping to drive Physical Retail strategic decisions with financial analyses and data</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in a corporate and/or consulting role with experience analyzing financial data and financial modeling </li>
<li>A degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics, Mathematics / Statistics or other concentrations with heavy quantitative focus strongly preferred</li>
<li>Experience working with large datasets and resourcefulness in obtaining data when clean and or complete information is not available </li>
<li>Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to effectively convey insights from analyses to senior managers</li>
<li>Ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication, and influence; strong ownership of tasks/deadlines/projects</li>
<li>High proficiency in MS Excel and Office; SQL or other programming languages a plus</li>
