The Technical Field Liaison (TFL) is responsible for providing in field technical assistance pre- and post-sale technical support for large strategic accounts and health systems as assigned. The TFL will facilitate pro-active activities within the assigned accounts such as providing continued technical operation instructions and support, new assay implementation, connectivity support, and training, product updates, and updates to maintenance procedures or upcoming calibration check needs.

This position is part of the Field Applications Department and will be located in the Northeastern United States. At Cepheid, we make it easier and faster to access the test results you need, when and where you need them.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support Sales to achieve monthly, quarterly, annual unit and reagent goals for respective products supported in the United States by helping to drive new assay implementations and identifying sales leads.

  • Coordinate with relevant Sales personnel and Field Service Engineers (FSE) to maintain customer relationships within assigned geography

  • Integrate Cepheid instruments (including installation), assays and connectivity solutions into customer laboratories and provide support to the customer during the evaluation and implementation

  • Jointly develop account strategies with Sales Representatives aimed at increasing Cepheid business and retaining current business within the health system or multi-site account.

  • Provide sales support when needed by conducting technical presentations at customer sites, trade shows and workshops to drive thought leader adoption of Cepheid technology.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 6+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years of work experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience

  • Travel: up to 75% with overnights

  • Valid driver license

Vendor credentialing: A function of this position is the ability to pass vendor credentialing requirements imposed by assigned customers, which can include, by way of example only, periodic background checks and drug screening, immunizations, and training, and may vary by customer and change from time-to-time. The Company pays the cost for any such vendor

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in molecular and microbiology techniques.

  • Experience using current technology for documentation and communication

  • Experience with CRM, SAP or similar
