We are seeking a self-motivated, high achieving facilities maintenance professional. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Associate will be hands-on, on the day-to-day maintenance and improvement of Fenway Health buildings and facilities. The Facilities Associate will ensure the building and facilities remain safe, functional and at the optimum standard for employees and the public.

Representative Duties

  • Provide general overall facility management services, including continuous monitoring of office and clinical spaces.

  • Address employee inquiries and concerns ensuring timely and quality issue resolution and service delivery and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Respond to facility inquiries and complaints, assess problems and take the necessary corrective action.

  • Ensure compliance with Fenway Health standards and procedures across building locations. Report on open and closed work orders and check the status of open work orders with the assigned party.

  • Coordinate and maintain on-going communication with Fenway staff and outside contractors for service and repairs and provide project status updates.

  • Follow protocol for effective building-specific maintenance and safety.

  • Assist with site inspection and schedule and document maintenance and repairs on building equipment.

  • Understand daily activities at assigned building and communicate any disruptions when needed.

  • Provide general facility support by fulfilling routine light maintenance work orders; such as room set up, moving office equipment and furniture, light plumbing, or repairs.

  • Monitor and assess the building facilities regularly by conducting facilities inspections and following proper procedures to ensure that the facilities meet company and legal safety regulations.

  • Maintain restroom cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of toilets, sinks, and paper/soap dispensers.

  • Maintain mailroom services including sorting and delivering internal mail in a timely fashion, delivering packages to respective departments/employees, metering outgoing mail, and delivering outgoing mail to post office as necessary.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory of health center supplies including lunchroom and restroom supplies.

  • Maintain cleaning schedule, especially when additional or special cleaning requirements are requested.

  • Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities

  • Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested

  • Adheres to proper dress code


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in customer service in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail

  • Work requires periods during which physical exertion is required, such as lifting and maneuvering of equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
