We are recruiting to fill openings for Legacy Alstom trained Field Engineers to travel to customer sites and support our customers with their installation, maintenance, and warranty work with industrial power generation rotating equipment, primarily Steam Turbines and some Gas Turbines. We have openings for already OEM trained Candidates who have experience on GE Fitchburg, Lynn and Schenectady Steam Turbines and Frame sized Gas Turbines, and Boilers including HRSG.
The Field Engineer will oversee the management and execution of site activities including planning, organizing, integrating and monitoring of resources such as labor, tools and technical assistants as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. Assist in the testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of turbines. The FE will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning at customer power generating facilities.
Provide customers with technical direction and support on Legacy Alstom Steam Turbines and or Legacy Alstom Frame sized Gas Turbines
Takes direction from FieldCore Management to implement Upgrades and perform inspections on turbines and is responsible for directing lower level craft labor to perform the Upgrades/ Inspections
Signs off on all changes/Inspections performed
Complete standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements.
Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to Safety and Quality
Monitor site safety during project execution
Ensure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the site
Provide Parts numbers and quantities of additional items using GE Electronic Tools
Supply customers with proper Turbine drawings by using GE Electronic Tools
Perform walk-downs during installation/ Maintenance to ensure that the customer’s contractors are working properly
Perform aftermarket upgrades that need to be performed at the site level
Bachelor’s degree (Chemistry, CE, EE, ME, IE or Environmental Engineering) from an accredited college or university and 4 years of experience, OR 10 years of experience without formal degree, in power generation or technical field services industry
Experience with Legacy ABB/ Alstom control platforms, Procontrol P13, Advant, Alspa systems Previous experience with controls programming highly preferred
Successful completion of required training programs
OEM trained on Steam or Gas Turbines
Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of Steam Turbines, Gas Turbine Operation, and Controlling Parameters
Position requires technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams
Ability to travel up to 100%
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel) and ability to learn company and site-specific computer applications
Electrical circuitry, both AC & DC
Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
Plant instrumentation including pressure, temperature, and vibration equipment
Strong project management skills
