Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Marketing team is seeking a self-starting, innovative and enthusiastic Event Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing Cloud & Cognitive Software Ecosystem Marketing team.

In this role you will be responsible for developing strategic plans, recommendations and design as well as tactical implementation and measurement of 3rd party & propriety events tailored for our ecosystem partners. You will help attendance and conversion of prospects through exceptional client centric experiences. Success is tracked by the following key performance indicators: Event registrations, attendance, responses, lead management, revenue and ROI.

People in this discipline develop the event experience plans and execute the event plans in conjunction with an end-to-end campaign strategy supporting our Cloud & Cognitive Software ecosystem partners. Responsibilities include developing an event strategy as part of a multi-touch, integrated path to proficiency; surrounding IBM events with social and digital activities to drive increased and deeper client engagement; creating the event specific response lead management plan; ensuring marketing created revenue commitments are met post event and managing the event budget and agency relationships, in partnership across all marketing and communication channels.

Primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Co-create, plan & execute exceptional client experiences with our GSI & ISV partners.

  • Implement event strategy & plan in conjunction with an end to end campaign strategy supporting our Cloud & Cognitive Software ecosystem partners.

  • Manage and develop guidance around event marketing processes including performance metrics, event experiences, community activation, best practices sharing, agency relationships, etc. and engaging with the corporate events team as required.

  • Develop partner ready event kits that can be packaged up and used to execute events globally.

  • Maintain a current & complete events calendar for both 3 rd party & proprietary events we plan to execute, including partner events.

  • Partner with product & content marketing teams to develop compelling assets, event demos, signage, giveaways, etc. for use at all events.

  • Partner with campaign teams to ensure response & lead management process is optimized to ensure we can track performance metrics post event.

Nurture and build strong relationships with GSI & ISV marketing teams and key stakeholders

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 years of B2B event marketing experience supporting events of all sizes

  • Strong project management skills

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Candidate must be able to work onsite in one of the following locations: New York City, Cambridge/Littleton, MA or Atlanta, GA

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • PMP certification
