THE POSITION

We are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join the Equity Portfolio Implementation team in our Boston location. In this role, the individual will be a member of a global team that supports the portfolio management activities of the firm’s equity investors. Previous asset management industry experience is preferred for this role, although candidates from other backgrounds will also be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the investment teams and traders to ensure timely and accurate execution of investment strategies across client portfolios

  • Rebalance portfolios in response to investment strategies, cash flows, benchmark changes, market price movements, and changes in client guidelines

  • Interface with groups across the firm, including InvesTech, GRG, Investment Products and Services, Investment Research, Investment Boutiques and Securities Law, on issues relating to new account set-up, transitions, market openings, security set-up, product integrity and equity offerings

  • Provide additional value-added contributions to investment teams on a customized basis, such as risk analysis, syndicate recommendations, detailed portfolio data reporting and analysis, exposure tracking, and custom portfolio management

  • Work with Investment Technology on the development of and enhancements to investment implementation and monitoring tools

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work independently and to contribute as part of a team, with a strict attention to detail

  • Creativity and initiative to develop projects that can lead to better implementation of strategies and trades, and understanding of portfolio risk and positioning

  • Strong understanding of global securities, including equities, bonds, currency, and derivatives

  • Ability to communicate and strategize effectively with investment teams and other internal groups regarding portfolio issues

  • Advanced analytical skills, a quantitative orientation, and a detail-oriented mindset

  • Proficient programming skills in Python is preferred

  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks

  • Familiarity with trading systems, and/or investment risk systems is a plus

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in the investment management business, with trading, portfolio analysis and/or investment operations/administration experience preferred.

  • Possess advanced degree or a CFA designation; or progress towards degree or CFA would be viewed favorably

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

USD 65,000 - 150,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
