Manulife Director, US Life Insurance Sales Desk in Boston, Massachusetts
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join John Hancock as the Director of the Life Insurance Sales Desk. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating and fostering a highly engaged and skilled sales team dedicated to driving insurance sales and achieving overall business growth. You will provide visionary leadership, build and develop a team of sales professionals, and ensure alignment with John Hancock’s sales objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead and inspire the internal sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
Training and Development:
Design and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team.
Continuously assess and address the development needs of team members.
Team Building:
Recruit, onboard, and build a cohesive team that aligns with the broader sales organization’s goals and values.
Promote a team-of-teams approach to drive synergy and collective success.
Daily Operations:
Direct and oversee daily activities to support and capitalize on sales opportunities and proposals.
Ensure efficient workflow and process enhancements for sales systems.
Sales Strategy:
Identify and develop innovative sales opportunities and concepts.
Create and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed targets.
Management Collaboration:
Collaborate as part of the US Distribution management team.
Make informed recommendations on staffing levels to optimize performance.
Subject Matter Expertise:
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and field liaison, providing expertise on proposals and opportunities.
Serve as the point of contact for system projects and initiatives, including field training and ongoing procedural updates.
Post-Implementation Support:
Coordinate and manage post-implementation system support to ensure seamless transitions and ongoing efficiency.
Product Knowledge:
Gather and disseminate information from product teams to ensure the sales team has a comprehensive understanding of the products and services offered.
Sales Campaigns:
Work collaboratively with management to plan and implement effective sales campaigns.
Contribute to the development of key messaging and create supporting tools for various sales initiatives.
Communication:
Define and manage ongoing communication with inside sales teams to maintain maximum awareness of current tools and resources.
Facilitate training and support for new sales campaigns, script enhancements, and procedural changes.
Continuous Development:
Oversee the continuous professional development of the sales support staff to maintain high standards of performance and engagement.
Required Qualifications:
Licences Required - Life & Health, FINRA - SIE, Series 6, 63, 26
Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
Strong strategic thinking and ability to drive sales growth.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of life insurance products and sales processes.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational and project management skills.

Salary range is expected to be between
$114,975.00 USD - $206,955.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
