You have deep experience in the apparel industry. You have personally delivered strategies, plans, and results as the top sourcing leader in a team that includes designers, tech designers, product managers, sourcing, and quality.

You do your best work with your sleeves rolled up, leading people and driving innovation while managing workload and process. Your experience includes global sourcing and deep knowledge of quality and costing. Most importantly, you understand people and the importance of culture wherever in the world you may be.

You understand that this is not a fashion-oriented business. Our products, while improving in fit, quality, and durability each year, are classics.

You direct and execute the global sourcing strategy for all Life is Good product categories to ensure our continued growth, stability, and profitability.

YOUR JOB

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing

  • You develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with Life is Good’s supply chain partners (agents, factories) while driving value, effectively managing risk, enhancing product improvements, meeting current and future business objectives

  • You develop and maintain a Sourcing base that is aligned with a consumer-centric business model

  • You ensure vendors are able to execute our premium arthouse-driven products in compatible minimum order quantities

  • You effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and expand a successful product manufacturing strategy that facilitates quick-turn consumer testing

  • You identify new suppliers by preparing a detailed product brief and request for quotations; Identify supplier capabilities and core competencies to support the needs of the brand

  • You research and negotiate agency and manufacturing agreements with representatives best able to produce high-quality Life is Good products and operate within the confines of our Code of Conduct and unique company mission throughout the world

  • You achieve margin requirements while maintaining desired delivery, quality, and brand aesthetic

  • You facilitate quick resolution of product-related issues with appropriate teams (inventory, sales, finance, operations, customer service, vendors/agents)

  • You analyze detailed costing breakdowns by product category to give clear direction on how to achieve and maintain margin goals by category. Collaborate regularly with finance, operations, and inventory to ensure margin goals and strategies are consistently executed.

  • You decrease blind buys by closely managing timing challenges associated with the seasonal Early Order Programs (EOP)

  • You ensure projections and capacity reservations are communicated timely and adjusted monthly •Analyze capacity utilization based on plan and actual. Assure capacity reservations are updated with current business needs via monthly S&OP meetings

  • You conduct continuous analysis and present to Leadership Team, including Key Performance Metrics: IMU improvement, On-Time delivery, Lead-time reduction, TCM improvement.

  • You lead all documentation for the lead time chart and capacity plan

  • You maintain positive vendor partnerships and ensure they are educated in and supportive of our social mission

  • You travel internationally several times a year

Your Experience and Qualifications:

  • You prioritize exceptionally well

  • You are known for flexibility and working autonomously

  • You bring hands-on business and cultural expertise in Central and South American countries

  • You have 7-10 years of experience delivering results in global sourcing for apparel and accessories

  • You understand the global textiles and apparel landscape and related sourcing processes

  • You demonstrate extensive knowledge of raw material development and costs, including construction, performance and finishing details

  • You have expertise with raw material manufacturing, garment manufacturing, and costing

  • You understand how fit and design modifications affect garment prices

  • You are an expert in MS Office: Excel

  • You've had experience with Centric (or related PLM) and SAP

  • Your experience includes international business experience

  • You have a strong understanding of logistics to lead sourcing conversations and negotiations
