The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in the City of Boston, and the most significant hotel project in the city for the last forty years. The property features seven outlets for drinking and dining, a signature spa, fitness center, and rooftop pool. It boasts more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and caters to the most discerning clientele.
TheOmni Boston Hotel at the Seaportis seeking a dynamicDirector of Saleswho brings strong leadership skills, can drive overall revenue growth and enhancement, is team and customer centric and possesses the desire to join an industry leading company. Based in Boston, you will engage in leading a team of group sales associates responsible for account acquisition and development and revenue generation. This individual will maximize revenues for the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport through direct sales, marketing and designated activities specific to group sales accounts. Success is measured through increased revenues generated from the group room related revenues, improved account revenue share and increased customer value.
Full service hotel leadership experience is required for this position.
Responsible for management of customer decisions and the relationship process.
Responsible for directing and leading activities through internal and external resources.
Work closely with DOSM to effectively communicate new trends and develop strategies to increase revenue.
Works closely with all levels of the organization to resolve complex issues or concerns; communicating in a clear concise manner.
Ensures full maximization of room revenue potential. Effectively maintain accounts to achieve business objectives.
Identify and stay abreast of industry trends to provide leadership and education
Maintain emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines.
Assist Director of Sales & Marketing in developing, maintaining, and implementing strategies/ action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
Stimulate productivity of all sales staff through guidance, development, and support.
Develop, maintain, and implement creative packages to fill identified need periods in all markets.
Active solicitation of key accounts to generate direct sales.
Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a proactive solicitation environment.
Assist Director of Sales & Marketing in the achievement of overall Food and Beverage revenue.
Develop, maintain, and implement the group rooms budgeting and forecasting process.
Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively.
Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis.
Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
Ensure a challenging and exciting environment to encourage full career development and personal growth.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
5 years of large hotel sales experience in a director or leadership role.
Must be a self-starting team player that contributes positive energy.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
Excellent ability to conduct group presentations, written and oral.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and re-prioritize when necessary.
Strong business planning, account planning and budget management skills.
Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue.
Demonstrated ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results.
Strong financial/statistical analysis and business case development skills.
Strong understanding and expertise in the sales process.
Extensive experience with account management.
Proficient in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Travel – 25%.
