Job Summary

Diode Ventures is currently seeking a Director of Origination for its Digital Infrastructure portfolio with 10+ years of sales experience in data centers, fiber, and other digital infrastructure to join its team. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with customers in the technology industry, the ability to sell repeat work, and deep knowledge of the data center market. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate initiative and leadership, and have the judgment and confidence to work independently with clients and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

As an individual contributor, this professional will develop solutions to new and existing clients and be responsible for planning and executing sales strategies to drive business growth. Works with Marketing, Project Finance, and Project Management teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect for potential leads within target accounts and uncover service needs within those prospects.

  • Ability to identify and pursue to closure account prospects.

  • Partner with relevant team members to create winning proposals

  • Coordinate opportunities from prospect through to engagement

  • Development and cultivation of a well-qualified sales pipeline

  • Gain and share understanding of prospect’s organization, processes, business strategies, product or service offerings and decision-making structures

  • Work collaboratively with the company’s resources to define the approach and strategy for achieving client requirements.

  • Develop effective partnerships that align with the business strategy for specific solutions.

  • Effectively negotiate with multiple levels of executive management within prospective client organizations

  • Ability to organize and execute effective public speaking and written media with practice related organizations within the industry.

  • Use in-depth knowledge and insight of key competitors to create compelling reasons for prospective clients to engage with the company.

  • Communicate the status of opportunities, clearly articulate next steps and discuss potential risks with the wider sales and account management team in regular meetings.

  • Previous proven external, customer sales success.

  • Sales and Marketing campaign development skills.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of digital industry; knowledge of industry business drivers and motivators.

  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure

  • Understanding of financial metrics including PGM, revenue, overhead costs, profit & loss, and project financials.

  • Ability to sell; strong negotiating and persuasive skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • 15+ years experience in business development roles.
