Responsible for the continuous review and assessment of the Commercial Bank’s operating model in order to support the delivery of products and services across the Commercial Bank. In line with Commercial Banking’s “Fix the Foundation” strategic pillar, lead efforts to re-engineer the bank’s credit operating model, to drive growth, satisfy regulatory requirements and deliver efficiencies.

Develop and recommend to executive management strategic and tactical approaches for the achievement of operational and organizational efficiency as well as effective first-line risk management.

Proactively influence and support execution of plans and actions that positively impact efficiency/cost, service delivery and client experience.

Reporting to The Head of Business Management & Front Office Transformation, the successful candidate will collaborate with the corporate operational hierarchy to determine priorities and ensure alignment with policies and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

All job duties are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Collaborate with, assist, and/or guide senior management in the prioritization, planning and implementation of the strategic plan with an emphasis on “Fix the foundation” initiatives.

  • Oversee/monitor implementation and change management of specific projects and initiatives working closely with the Head of PMO, external consultants and other key stakeholders as required

  • Confirm alignment and agreement on operations, policies, projects and initiatives.

  • Facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices across Commercial businesses

  • Assess areas of operational improvement and recommend strategies and approaches for these areas to executive management.

  • Build business case and empirical support for specific recommendations to reduce costs, increase revenues and improve customer experience, including through improved process design, management, automation, risk control and mitigation

  • Manage a small team of Corporate Development, MIS and Data Quality professionals, providing coaching and training as appropriate

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, MBA preferred

  • At least 10-15 years experience in Financial Services in management positions related to business strategy, process reengineering, risk management and/or operations management.

  • Prior experience in project management and reporting preferred

  • Strong knowledge of operations management, financial planning, risk management and or business analysis consulting

  • Excellent communications and presentation skills; ability to develop and deliver executive presentations

  • Issue identification and problem solving skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills

  • Proven ability to provide strategic planning, sound judgment and decisive decision making

  • Ability to quickly adapt to constantly changing requirements and business needs

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight timelines

  • Change agent/management skills

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
