Sanofi Group Director of Agency Food in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Summary

The Sanofi CHC Director of Agency Food is the primary leader for the Broker managed Food Channel customers for the US Sanofi CHC brands. This role will lead not only the development of key Grocery customers but own the relationship between Sanofi CHC and our agencies. As the liaison between Agencies and Sanofi you require a broad view of the business to build and maintain a sustainable business model for Sanofi brands to win in an omni-channel world. This individual should deeply understand our brands, the customers who use our brands and our retail partners go-to-market models.

Your core responsibilities

  • Lead the relationship with Sanofi’s customers from annual planning to joint business planning/top-to-tops to issue resolution

  • Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of effective sales strategies, plans, and programs

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to support the development of Sanofi brands, including Sales Strategy, Category Management, Shopper Marketing, and Supply Chain

  • Develop strategies and promotions to achieve the joint business plan, refining ideas with brand and shopper marketing teams, selling ideas in to accounts, supporting program development and execution

  • Ensure all customer business plans are aligned with brand marketing guidelines and implement appropriate distribution, merchandising, pricing, and shelving objectives, including new items

  • Build advantaged relationships with the customer and collaborate to set plans and drive shared growth for the brands and the customer, and respond to top customer issues and requests

  • Oversee and provide counsel for the retail execution of all accounts

  • Set account and regional targets for sales and profitability growth

  • Adjust budgets based on actual performance in region

  • Monitor and report on critical KPIs

  • Provide brokers clear direction and prioritization of initiatives, including timely evaluation of results and formal quarterly reviews

  • Provide complete and timely information to brokers to support their sales efforts including trade plans, marketing plans, consumer insights, and product knowledge

  • Communicate effectively, both formally and informally, with brokers, customers, and internal sales and cross-functional personnel

  • Lead the annual performance review and ongoing evaluation of suppliers based on defined KPI’s. This includes leading monthly reviews of their results and recommending changes as needed

  • Hold agencies accountable for KPI’s. Celebrate success and partner to correct underperforming metrics

  • Continually ensure positive partnership where Sanofi is seen as the client of choice

These characteristics describe you

  • You have a demonstrated track record of a minimum of 10 years in the area of growing the business and executing plans with excellence, preferably within OTC/Healthcare or Personal Care

  • Strong interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills

  • You are always thinking about how to help those around you excel

  • Extremely detail oriented, organized, dependable and self-motivated with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • You are a sales leader, engaging and energizing others in developing and owning your vision leveraging cross-organization collaboration to achieve best solutions

  • This individual remains current in the area of industry best practices for engaging and partnering with agencies and converts new knowledge into practical applications

  • This position requires you to think strategically, take a broad view and draw information from diverse and varied sources. You anticipate the future needs of the business, find meaningful connections in and out of the industry that drives Sanofi business results and allows us to win in the marketplace versus competition

  • You combine data, judgment and intuition based on your expert knowledge and experience to make informed and timely business decisions

  • You act as an owner of the business and are accountable for your results

  • Highly proficient in MS Office

  • Knowledge of Nielsen, IRI, and POS data required

  • B.A./B.S. required

Who you will work with

  • You will have four regional leaders reporting to you including, East, West, Central, and Puerto Rico

  • You report to the Head of Food Channel
