Job Summary :

Manulife Global HNW (GHNW) is one of the five strategic focus areas for Asia Segment and a growth business. Manulife is a leader in the High Net Worth individual life insurance market. The Director, Global HNW Distribution reports to the Chief Distribution Officer, Global HNW Distribution and is a key member of the sales and distribution team. The Director will also serve as the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) of Manulife’s Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) Office.

This individual should have familiarity with life insurance products and an excellent understanding of the High Net Worth International Life Insurance market and marketing concepts. The Director should have the ability to identify, develop and promote marketing/sales opportunities and educational material along with building strong relationships with GHNW Distributors as well as internal support teams all to generate sales for GHNW.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as SEO of the DIFC office, having overall responsibility and oversight of the DIFC office

  • Provide internal sales and marketing support to the GHNW distribution team members

  • Motivate Distributors to sell GHNW solutions via participation in persuasive virtual and in-person sales presentations, designing marketing initiatives and providing top tier responsiveness to Distributor inquiries

  • Work closely with Distributors to identify market and sales opportunities / business potential for distributor growth as well as address and resolve issues that will cover a wide array of topics and could involve Underwriting, Product, and other areas within the company

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies along with educational materials for and with Distributors

  • Effectively position GHNW products within the landscape of competitors and overall competitive landscape, and run supporting illustrations as required

  • Educate and provide training to Distributors on GHNW products, underwriting and processes

  • Consistently be proactive with key personnel to build, enhance, and manage relationships

  • Provide sales support to the Chief Distribution Officer, Global HNW Distribution ​

  • Work with new distributors to diversify and expand GHNW sales reach into new markets (Latin America, Europe etc)

  • Cross promote Manulife solutions through GHNW by identifying, implementing, and executing sales and marketing initiatives aimed to retain business within the Manulife enterprise

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with GHNW distribution teams as well as internal personnel who support the GHNW Life business

  • Work closely with all internal departments (Product, Marketing, Underwriting, Legal, Case Management, Titles, Service, Compliance) to further drive sales and marketing initiatives while also observing ways GHNW can advance and improve operational processes and procedures

  • Be a key, reliable and trusted resource as well as Manulife brand ambassador to all contracted Distributors including their sales support staff, sales consultants, and senior management.

Job Requirement:

  • Full time residency in Dubai

  • Strong integrity, honesty, and ethics

  • 10+ years’ experience in Financial Services Industry – HNW insurance experience would be a plusCollege degree: BA/BS

  • Willing to work significantly flexible hours due to Distributors located in various time zones worldwide

  • Willing to travel (foreign/domestic travel required up to 3X per year or more)

  • Advanced Life insurance knowledge and case design/illustration techniques

  • Sales expertise: the ability to identify sales opportunities

  • Ability to build and maintain external relationships

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Strong creative presentation/written, listening, communication skills

  • Strong software technical skills (Webinars, full Microsoft Office Suite of products, etc.)

  • Persuasion skills / Ability to influence

  • Ability to work well with internal personnel in various locations

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
