OraSure Technologies, Inc. Director, Existing Business – Core ID and Adherence Diagnostics in Boston, Massachusetts
The Director of Existing Business – Core Infectious Disease and Adherence Diagnostics will be the strategic and operating lead for all existing business in the HIV, HCV, and adherence franchises. He/she will be responsible for the leadership, direction and implementation of a strategy to maintain and grow revenue and gross profit margin on products and markets that will have a meaningful impact over the next 12 month period. The new Director’s function includes formulating a strategy for current and incoming competitors, launching new products or existing products into new markets, and marketing efforts to support our domestic and international sales teams.
The Director will be a key player at the senior level and will play an important role in helping to direct and manage the organization through its next critical phase of growth. The role therefore requires a seasoned executive with proven leadership skills, experience in operating and managing a P&L, budget, and team, and strong marketing capabilities. Ideally, this individual will possess an in-depth understanding of medical device and/or pharmaceutical marketing, public health both domestically and internationally, and have experience in managing successful product introductions.
The role will appeal to a self-motivated individual with strong results and team orientation, and technical capabilities. This position would be responsible for achieving the following milestones (these are examples of the types of metrics this role would own rather than a comprehensive list of goals):
First 6 months
Develop strategy to increase sales of existing products in current markets
Formulate a launch plan for the Point of Care urine adherence test
Establish network with Key Opinion Leaders who drive clinical adoption decisions for our products
First 12 months
Launch HIV Self Test into European market
Successfully launch the Point of Care urine adherence test
Formulate and enact a comprehensive marketing strategy to link and demonstrate competitive advantage of the OraSure suite of HIV and HCV products
First 24 months
Achieve double digit YOY sales growth for HIV and HCV products in current domestic and international markets
Launch Point of Care blood adherence test
Maintain a dynamic strategy for dealing with competitive products
5 years commercial experience required, with recent pharmaceutical and/or medical device experience within the infectious disease marketplace
Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive projects to completion
Strong experience in managing product launches
The ability to understand technical issues and prioritize multiple tasks
Work within multi-functional and multi-geographical teams
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers and with all levels of personnel
Strong leadership skills; able to provide constructive feedback that develops employees and fosters their long-term contribution to forwarding company sales and ethical standard
Bachelor's degree in Business is preferred. Science background is helpful.
Experience (5-7 years) in product sales in a workplace, diagnostic or related industry.
Experience (5-7 years) managing third-party agents or a distribution channel.
Experience (3-5 years) managing a commercial or marketing team
