POSITION SUMMARY:

ICS - Director, Data Product Management

To own the product vision and be responsible for planning and execution throughout the lifecycle, including: strategy and design, gathering and prioritizing requirements, defining the future state of process, technology, and operating model, and working closely with the firm’s service lines, internal service teams, Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, Sales, Marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Additionally, this role will serve as the leader representing the product’s business plan before firm-wide investment decision committees and ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Lead a robust firmwide initiative to design, implement and operationalize a modern cloud first architected data ecosystem from data ingestion to analytics.

  • Define, Implement and proactively communicate Data Warehouse SLA’s and performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture on documenting (i.e. data diagrams, data transfer agreements, SLA & KPIs ) data architecture and environment, maintain a current and accurate view of enterprise data platform, data assets, data interfaces.

  • Re-platform, consolidate and promote a set of leading reporting and analytic tools that support firms current and future needs.

  • Evangelize modern best practices for using data as a competitive differentiator across various client facing communities and service lines.

  • Design and partner in implementing change management initiatives to help the firm understand and embrace moving from legacy solutions and practices to a modern ecosystem and the new opportunities it will provide.

Product Manager Job Duties:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap. Establish key value levers, KPIs, and measurement models for the product aligned with the overall business plan.

  • Working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, business units, and ecosystem partners, conduct and lead discovery interviews, workshops, exercises, and initiatives to identify opportunities and gaps in capabilities and user experience

  • Lead the development of personas and user journeys that reflect the current and target experience of audiences using the technologies and solutions supported by the Enterprise Transformation organization.

  • Lead the development of the supporting business architecture (user interface, activity, process, etc.) that enables user journeys and business strategy, including supporting business cases or impact to Firm investment portfolio.

  • Develop compelling content which effectively communicates the enterprise-wide vision of investments, roadmaps, and the target users which they serve.

  • Work with architects, technology teams and vendor/consulting partners to identify and support cross-business and cross-functional opportunities for collaboration, standardization and reuse of the product to maximize firm technology investments.

  • Provide clear and effective leadership that demonstrates, communicates and promotes the value of the product across the organization.

  • Create and prioritize backlog items/stories and acceptance criteria to review and groom with project team for design and development.

  • Shepherd products all the way through from inception to deployment to value realization.

  • Deliver on requirements and execute on product vision by coordinating across teams.

  • Responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams and processes with efficiency.

  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.

  • Make tough calls when necessary; keep the business and stakeholders grounded in reality.

  • Maintain a forward-looking view to ensure products are evolving toward the ultimate vision.

  • Be an expert with respect to the competition and market-comparable offerings.

  • Act as a leader within the company. Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Product Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Hadoop, Azure Synapse, Redshift (Certification in relevant system a plus )

  • 3+ experience with various reporting platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik

  • Experience in establishing/developing/promoting a Data Science workbench / Jupyter Notebooks environment for a Data Science practice.

  • Experience and demonstrated business applicable implementations in Machine Learning and A.I technologies for predictive analytics solutions.

  • Good working knowledge of Traditional ETL, ELT, Data Warehousing and Data Marts

  • Experience with entity relationship modelling, data architecture layers and design, metadata systems and tools, data quality tools and techniques

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.

  • Subject matter expertise with an awareness of cross-functional roles (e.g. release, finance, strategy, customer service, operations, marketing, and sales etc.) so that they can set priorities and ensure each team delivers value.

  • Creative problem-solving abilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems , Business, Economics, or related field. MBA a plus.

  • 10+ years of experience in business information technology with demonstrated evidence of increasing growth and responsibility

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate stakeholder groups in cross-functional, cross-department working sessions resulting in actionable results

  • Brings updated thinking to solve traditional challenges; Experience with design thinking methods a plus

  • Strong ability to consume existing processes and understand impact to adjacent areas

  • Possesses critical thinking, pragmatic problem-solving and leadership aptitudes

  • Previous experience in the Professional Services or Accounting industry a plus

  • Previous client service or consultative experience a plus

  • Good business knowledge and confident decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to present and defend points of view to executive audiences

  • Excellent teamwork and inter-personal skills

  • Team oriented, flexible and able to work in a rapidly changing environment
