VMware Director, AWS Business Development - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Boston, Massachusetts

VMware is hiring an executive to own and grow its business through AWS Marketplace. VMware is making it easier for customers to find, test, buy and deploy VMware Cross-Cloud services to support their AWS environments by selling them through AWS Marketplace. VMware offering availability on AWS Marketplace listings are growing dramatically based on this ease of purchase and consumption. Marketplace growth is also being driven by the fact that customers can use their existing AWS Enterprise Discount Program agreements to consume VMware solutions as they modernize their mission-critical enterprise apps on AWS.

In addition to customers demand, ecosystem partners are interested in leveraging AWS Marketplace for selling VMware solutions for modern application development, cloud management, unified endpoint management, secure access service edge, and security. VMware is growing its team to develop this are of its partnership with AWS globally.

The successful candidate will be a team player and leader with the ability to navigate a startup environment in a large organization. As a self-starter, the ideal candidate should have experience with cloud marketplaces as well as development and growth of large, complex partnerships.


  • Develop the global VMware AWS Marketplace strategy as part of the larger VMware cloud marketplace strategy

  • Advance the global VMware AWS Marketplace partnership spanning and working with the field, partner groups, multiple business groups, marketing, and operations across both companies

  • Identify levers for improving and champion necessary initiatives to attain key results and objectives

  • Set and achieve aggressive growth targets for VMware products through AWS Marketplace working with and through AWS and VMware sales and channel teams

  • Align with AWS on global annual and monthly metrics and overall plans to measure success leveraging all available partner incentives

  • Develop training and enablement for VMware and AWS sellers focused on customer value, route ROI, and overall benefits

  • Develop and implement program updates in tandem with our Worldwide Partner Organization

  • Accelerate the roadmap of VMware product availability across business groups

  • Act as the voice of the customer and partner to VMware product leadership driving product changes, feature requests, and market requirements

  • Lead by positive example, consistently demonstrating the VMware EPIC2 values

  • Prior successful cloud marketplace business development experience is preferred

  • The ability to develop, assess, and refine strategic marketplace initiatives integrating them into the overall product, channel, and company strategy

  • Inquisitive and active listener with the ability to interact successfully with executives, product teams, and sales leadership across VMware and AWS

  • Able to work across multi-functional and matrixed organization to achieve desired results

  • Track record of leadership with demonstrable successful execution and teamwork
