Salesforce.org is looking for a dynamic, experienced leader in higher education Advancement to join the Education Team. This is an amazing opportunity to impact hundreds of higher education institutions while working with the world’s best platform and partner ecosystem to deliver innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate will be a thought leader in Advancement, with the professional credibility needed to engage with university executives to understand business needs and processes to uncover value in conjunction with the larger Salesforce team. This individual will also be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, able to think with agility and align a broad assortment of stakeholders from both technical and business-focused teams to create meaningful outcomes.
Provide direct industry input to key Advancement customer engagements.
Support the field team with expertise during in-person/virtual meetings and events to facilitate a deep understanding of the Salesforce value for Advancement.
Interface with current customers to nurture references and drive best practices.
Closely partner with other members of the product and strategy team to translate market requirements and identify areas of opportunity to develop our broader Advancement solution strategy and collaborate with the go-to-market team on positioning and distribution.
Lead discussions, collaboration and strategic alignment with key implementation and AppExchange partners.
Work with Salesforce.org Partnership teams to nurture key Advancement capabilities and expertise.
Coordinate strategic, high-impact regional Advancement events.
Raise awareness of the Salesforce.org brand and Advancement solution set by attending broader go-to-market events such as Dreamforce, Higher Education Summit, and Advancement industry conferences (CASE, AASP, etc).
Review inbound RFP opportunities with a cross-functional team to align and advise on how our partners and solutions should be positioned.
Develop a larger community of Advancement Trailblazers in alignment with the Higher Education Advisory Committee (HEAC) and Advancement Advisory Council (AAC).
Enrich our thought leadership in Advancement by contributing to regular blogs, webinars and other executive leadership gatherings (e.g. Advancement Advisory Council, Higher Education Advisory Council).
Co-lead sales enablement activities such as the development of pitch decks, onboarding sessions, certification processes, sales kick-off training, etc.
7+ years in a leadership role in university Advancement (Prospect Research, Development or Operations/Services).
High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the business.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
Familiarity with the Salesforce platform, partner ecosystem, enterprise IT and other solutions for Advancement in Higher Education.
Leadership qualities that inspire teaming and trust to influence multiple stakeholders and support sales strategy.
Demonstrable success in Advancement business environments and with broader Advancement technology ecosystem.
Understanding of Advancement market segments.
Understanding of business drivers and experience engaging cross-functional stakeholders within an Advancement organization (i.e. development, alumni relations, events)
Excellent communication skills - written, oral, virtual presentations, etc.
High comfort level with public speaking in front of large groups - the ability to connect with, inspire, and motivate an audience.
Ability to create and articulate credible business cases that highlight growth opportunities.
Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and partner constituencies including senior level executives, legal, finance, support, sales, and marketing.
Ability to influence functional groups to a shared vision.
Ability to build and manage C-level business relationships.
