Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

Oracle is looking for a Cybersecurity Specialist for our Specialist & Emerging Technology Innovations (SETI) specialist team.

As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will work with Oracle’s Government & Education customers to help them securely adopt OCI as part of their digital transformation. In this role, you will guide our customers’ cloud security architecture through the stages of cloud adoptions from lift-and-shift of mission critical applications to development of new cloud-native applications. The right candidate will be comfortable presenting to Government & Education leaders, security architects, cloud architects, and DevSecOps engineers.

Responsibilities

Communicate Oracle’s Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management, and Compliance strategy to Government & Education leaders and technical leaders

Work closely with Product Management to develop and deliver differentiated value propositions

Work with customers to define the security architecture for their OCI, multi-cloud or hybrid workloads

Build customer-centric, best-in-class assets for understanding and using security on OCI

Preferred Requirements

· 12+ Years of Technology Experience

· 5+ years of computer security experience

· 5+ years cloud migration or cloud security architecture experience with Oracle, AWS, Azure, or GCP

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

· Deep understanding of security principles and experience with two or more of the following: applied cryptography, key management, and security protocols, authentication and access control, database security and DLP, incident response and forensics, operating system patching and hardening, secure network design and micro-segmentation strategies, security assessments and penetration testing, security monitoring and intrusion detection, web application security, zero trust architecture and principles

· Cloud Security Architecture. Experience with secure cloud design and implementation.

· Cloud Networking: Experience with basic cloud networking including set-up and configuration of VLANs, setup and configuration of VPNs, and architecting secure cloud connectivity solutions.

· Identity and Access Management: Familiarity with configuring standards for Identity Management, such as SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth, SCIM, and MFA to secure user and API access, ensure the least privilege and governance.

· Database Security: Familiarity with data security principles and standard methodology data protection techniques such as data encryption, key management, data redaction, data subsetting, and data masking, as well as privileged user access controls and auditing and monitoring

· Scripting/development experience in: Python, Node.js, Java, Bash, etc.

· Knowledge of JSON, SAML, SQL

Preferred Certifications

Preferred: One or more cloud certifications: OCI Associate Architect, OCI Architect Professional, AWS Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Cloud Architect Certification, Splunk Certified Enterprise Architect

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

The Oracle SETI team is a force multiplier for the Oracle Government & Education solution engineering organization. Specialists are technology authorities by virtue of their superior knowledge, years of experience, and hands-on technical skills. Team members are passionate about their technology specialty and communicate at an expert-level.

Specialists have two primary functions:

  1. Specialists use their technology expertise to help customers succeed with Oracle technology.

  2. Specialists share their experienced knowledge to help other sales consultants, partners, and customers make the most effective use of Oracle technology.

The Cybersecurity Specialist is a recognized expert in cybersecurity. This member of the specialist team will help train other solution engineers and partners; promote Oracle’s approach to security, identity management, and compliance; build and deliver Oracle security demonstrations, help lead proof of concept (POC) projects, help diagnose and resolve technical challenges, and build effective and compelling technical presentations.

Hands-on experience and superior communications skills are equally important.

Specialists maintain a close working relationship with Oracle product development and product management teams in order to help educate other members of the Oracle sales team about product features and capabilities. Specialists also provide a conduit to Oracle development teams to convey customers challenges and make requests for product enhancements.

The specialist role requires working with a diverse group of Oracle Government & Education teams, partners, and customers across the United States and Canada. The Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible to work independently as they engage with virtual teams throughout the fiscal year.

Approximately 30% travel is required. However, remote delivery is highly encouraged via web-based collaboration tools.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working remotely, enjoys tackling new technical challenges, communicates effectively at all times, and is passionate about identity and access management topics.

Minimum preferred qualifications include: 12 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 20% to 30% domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 12 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and detailed knowledge of penetrating accounts, meeting collaborators within accounts, and interaction with C level; Competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 12 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

LOCATION: This is a remote based position for the Continental United States.
