Ford Motor Company Craftsmanship Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

As a member of the Ford Advance EV team, you will collaborate closely with other departments such as Product Management, Design Studio, Engineering, Dimensional, Manufacturing, and Quality to identify and address any issues related to the product concept, production, and launch. From the conceptual stage to production, your expertise will be integral in delivering a flawless experience to our customers.
What You’ll Do:
Take ownership of Dimensional & Craftsmanship deliverables for the entire attributesvehicle systems or areas.
Identify and develop team skills to align with Ford’s vision.
Perform thorough benchmarking of best-in-class vehicles to define competitive Craftsmanship targets.
Develop meticulous DTS documents and ensure alignment with process delivery.
Train & perform Tolerance analysis for the entire vehicle
Establish internal GD&T standards in accordance with ASME Y14.5M-2009.
Define and optimize Datum strategies for better product quality.
Establish a quality data management platform and help various cross-functional development teams in analyzing the data.
Perform Virtual builds from the 3D scans.
Establish sensory targets that elevate user experience beyond physical dimensions.
Lead and contribute to all cross-functional meetings.
Design and implement verification testing methods to validate targets.
Drive resolution of Craftsmanship issues through data-driven negotiation and constructive solutions.
Support Craftsmanship deliverables through engineering sign-off of vehicles.
• • Collaborate with quality functions to ensure targets are understood and measurable.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive Dimensional & Craftsmanship or Perceived Quality.
Strong numeracy, literacy, and logical reasoning skills.
Attention to detail and understanding of factors contributing to exceptional quality perception.
Appreciation for dimensional variation in assemblies and statistical analysis.
Ability to quantify subjective data to develop robust Craftsmanship targets.
Creative, constructive, and positive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication and influencing skills with technical proficiency.
Knowledge of various production and prototype manufacturing methods.
Flexibility to work across diverse vehicle design areas.
Knowledge of 3D statistical tolerance analysis using 3DCS/VisVsa
In-depth knowledge of ASME Y14.5M-2009, ASME GD&T Certification preferred.
Knowledge of polyworks inspector software is beneficial.
Knowledge of DFMEA and DFMA
