This product development team is responsible for end-to-end research, design, manufacture, and delivery of all beverage appliances for the At Home and Away from Home market segments. The Cost Engineer occupies a key role in the Appliance Business Unit to develop product and subsystem cost models using should cost analysis and a variety of data sources. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, product management, supply chain, and finance to drive cost predictability and accuracy on Keurig brewers. There is a heavy focus on the fast-paced new product development space, where cost modeling can shape future products!

What you will do:

  • Responsible for providing detailed bottoms-up product costing throughout the new product development cycle

  • Use your technical expertise to drive engineering and product management to meet program cost targets at a subsystem and product level

  • Track actual costs versus target to identify gaps and define actions to achieve target

  • Lead cross-functional cost reviews to report on cost trajectory and risks / opportunities for each program

  • Participate in product teardowns to assist in competitive benchmarking

  • Support supply chain strategies and development of business award recommendations

  • Work closely with US and Asia based teams to manage Advanced Development and NPD cost

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Operations, or similar preferred

  • 3-5 years experience preferred

  • This role has the potential to be a Cost Engineer II or Senior Cost Engineer, depending upon experience and skillset

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced global environment

  • Experience working with contract manufactured consumer products is preferred

  • Creative problem solver in ambiguous situations

  • Direct experience with “clean sheet” or should-cost based negotiations and agile teams is a plus

  • Outgoing individual with strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of engineering design, specifications, cost drivers

  • Flexible schedule to enable cross-region work during off hours (US to Asia communications)

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point; experience with costing/clean sheet systems is a plus

  • Experience with aPriori costing software is a plus

  • Potential for occasional international travel
