Department Description:We are seeking a talented Content Specialist to join our Beth Israel Lahey Health Marketing and Communications team. This position is currently hybrid.

Job Summary:Beth Israel Lahey Health is looking for a highly skilled Content Specialist with a strategic and creative mind to conceptualize and produce engaging content for a variety of audiences, including patients (existing and prospective) and employees of Beth Israel Lahey Health. This individual is responsible for developing integrated content strategy plans that can be deployed across multiple channels, including social media, web, digital and other types of advertising, and email. The content specialist should have a keen eye for detail, be highly creative and an expert storyteller with knowledge of consumer and content trends. This individual will guide content and creative strategy for select service lines, projects and initiatives, and also have the necessary skills to conceptualize and produce content. This individual will have the opportunity to work with some of the leading researchers and health care experts in their region in order to strategize and produce engaging, accurate, consistent and compelling content to use across multiple channels.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop content strategies for system initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the creative, marketing, and design teams to execute content strategies to be used on social media, web pages, blog posts, advertisements, etc. to boost brand awareness, support system initiatives and engage with audiences.

  • Coordinate with team members for SME interviews, research and write branded web and social media content.

  • Develop blog post topics through research and consistent news gathering. Develop and manage content calendars.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of written material. Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies).

  • Support system's social media accounts, including collaborating on strategy and supporting the implementation of content strategies.

  • Works with internal clients and subject matter experts to create compelling content for the system's various platforms and ensure adherence with branding guidelines.

  • Understands internal clients' goals and marketing plans and work with them to research, develop, and write appropriate and engaging content.

  • Develops strong working relationships with team members, internal clients, and departments throughout the system.

  • Coordinates multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Performs other special projects and duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, or related field required.

  • 3-5 years related work experience required in a content specialist role or related field.

  • Requires excellent interviewing, reporting, writing and editing skills; must possess strong interpersonal skills as well as technical skills. Customer service oriented. Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Experience conceptualizing content and content strategy based on business objectives. Proven work experience as a Content specialist, or Journalist or similar role.

  • Must be able to transform complex medical and/or scientific information into clear, coherent and compelling statements. Must use good judgment to identify appropriate content for target audiences. Ability to produce superior work in a resource-limited, time-sensitive environment.

  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of multimedia content creation and associated tools such as Adobe Photoshop, iMovie.

  • Written Communications:Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers.

  • Oral Communications:Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

  • Knowledge:Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

  • Team Work:Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

  • Customer Service:Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Physical Nature of the Job:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally
