Microsoft Corporation Consumption Excellence Leader in Boston, Massachusetts

The CSU Consumption Excellence Leader defines and drives a consumption culture across the MSUS business. The role is responsible for leading a team of Solution-aligned consumption specialists, to drive insights and champion programs to drive consumption through our CSU communities. The role is highly collaborative, working cooperatively with Worldwide CSU, Marketing and Operations Business Group leaders, OU CSU leaders, Sales Excellence leaders and others, to influence and measure end-to-end consumption outcomes across the MSUS business. The role also provides business intelligence to US senior leaders to support data-driven decisions and coaches team members on both strategic programs and tactical action that can accelerate consumption activities, with a “What’s Next” mindset.

  • Our customers achieve target business outcomes associated with stated success plans.

  • MSUS, segments and OUs achieve consumption business goals and attain scorecard metric targets across a multi-quarter horizon .

  • Cross-OU teams are equipped and enabled to apply best-practices and remove key blockers to accelerate consumption.

  • Field leadership understands consumption performance trends, risks and key influencers.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop, guide and assist MSUS CSU leadership on strategy and best practices to drive consumption across all roles in the CSU.

  • Define solution area-aligned and cross-cloud consumption strategies and ensure CSU communities are equipped and enabled to execute against supporting consumption motions.

  • Lead a team of solution aligned consumption experts with a charter of enabling the MSUS CSU to meet and exceed targets. Provide direction, strategy and role clarity for the team.

  • Represent MSUS performance insights in various executive reviews, including VSUs, Solution Area Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Connections.

  • Maintain a multi horizon view of consumption, with external and competitive insights and analysis to drive programs and results.

  • Identify strategies and incentives to drive a consumption culture within MSUS; championing with the MSUS Leadership team and OU leadership to evolve culture.

  • Implement and manage effective consumption hygiene guidance to create a high-quality portfolio of customer success engagements.

  • Maintain approach to track consumption performance, identify blockers, identify best-practices and lessons learned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Deep understanding of cloud consumption dynamics and consumption reporting

  • Executive presence and ability to provide consultative and actionable insights

  • Experience of customer service process design and continuous improvement

  • Proven ability to orchestrate activities across multiple stakeholder teams and to lead through influence

  • Problem-solving ability, especially in gathering data to drive decision making under strict timelines and working through complex requirements.

  • OU leaders: e.g. CSU, STU, ATU, Services GMs, OU RVP

  • CSU solution area leads

  • Segment and OU Sales Excellence Leaders

  • BSO: RoB and reporting activities

  • Cross-OU Consumption Excellence Leader community

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in customer-facing, Service delivery/Sales/Customer Success roles

  • 5+ years people leadership

  • Leadership through Influence; ability to drive alignment with cross functional teams to a common objective and define execution priorities against objectives.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage ambiguity and drive for clarity.

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills – both written and verbal.

  • Advanced presentation skills.

  • BA/BS equivalent.
