Senior Investment Analyst, Community Development

The primary role of the Senior Investment Analyst is to support the Community Development Investment team in its execution of the Bank’s CRA objectives through the review and underwriting of tax-advantaged, real estate investments and other types of community development investment vehicles. The qualified candidate must have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills and the ability to comfortably interact with senior management and external parties such as syndicators, legal counsel, developers/sponsors and third-party lenders. Strong working knowledge of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program is essential.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Prepare investment approval packages for review.

  • Review, prepare, and analyze financial projections for tax-advantaged investment vehicles, including, but not limited to, low-income housing tax credit, historic tax credit, and new market tax credit investments.

  • Analyze financial wherewithal of syndicators and project-level guarantors.

  • Perform initial review of potential investments, identify risk, and prepare summary observations for discussion with team.

  • Manage transaction pipeline and secured investment registration process.

  • Support Relationship Managers in tracking and managing progress towards CRA investment goals.

  • Forecast amortization tied to the Bank’s investment portfolio utilizing Microsoft Excel.

  • Interface with third parties throughout the closing process.

  • Manage process of filing investments with the OCC.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Job requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business major preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working with tax-advantaged investments, specifically LIHTC, HTC, NMTC and other community development investments such as SBICs and loan funds.

  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with a heavy emphasis on Excel and Word. Must possess high degree of knowledge and understanding of Excel including the ability to build sophisticated models and streamline existing models.

  • Must demonstrate each of the following key attributes:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills. The candidate must have the ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail in order to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ability to effectively manage and administer sensitive and confidential information.

  • Must have strong initiative and be able to work without guidance & supervision. The candidate must have the ability to excel in a remote work environment.

  • Bachelors Degree

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Hybrid Unstructured (1 days in office / 4 days remote)
