Meta Communications Manager, Strategic Response in Boston, Massachusetts
Summary:
Facebook is seeking a Communications Manager focused on rapid response communications. The position requires strong media relations skills and experience using social media platforms as a rapid response tactic.This person is expected to maintain relationships with key media and influencers and should be highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented. Key parts of the role will include devising media and social media strategy around challenging and time-sensitive issues, drafting statements and messaging, and working directly with reporters. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly absorb complex issues, come up with a response strategy, and lead cross-functional efforts to see it through.This role is on the Strategic Response Communications team.
Required Skills:
Communications Manager, Strategic Response Responsibilities:
Lead response strategy on some of Facebookâs most pressing and complex issues
Work directly with reporters on stories
Draft statements and messaging
Develop and execute rapid response plans for social media
Partner with communications team colleagues when issues arise in their areas of subject matter expertise
Counsel cross-functional partners on communications considerations for policy changes, product updates and other announcements
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years of experience working in communications or journalism
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, or related field
Experience leveraging social media platforms as a rapid response strategy
Experience managing issues and rapid response communications
Experience working directly with reporters
Experience drafting messaging materials, and working with cross-functional groups
Experience with multiple deliverables and working in a deadline driven environment
Experience distilling complex technology or policy issues into simplified language
