This is an excellent opportunity for experienced clinical research professionals who are seeking to grow their supervisory and mentorship skills.


  • Mentor and train junior research staff and students conducting research. Provide support to PIs, their projects, and staff by being knowledgeable in clinical research principles, data collection methods, basic data analysis, and regulatory procedures and policies

  • Guide junior research staff as they submit regulatory documents to the IRB, prepare reliance agreements, coordinate material transfer agreements and data use agreements, write and submit foundation level grants, author scientific manuscripts, and conduct largescale multi-institutional trials

  • Lead the clinical research study process. Oversee collection, maintenance and retrieval of study data and implementing systems and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency and conformance with protocol requirements. Act as a resource to clinical research staff to ensure standards for data management and quality assurance are adhered to in each study

  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations of a study(s)

  • Monitor operations of research sub contract. Work with site personnel to develop and maintain systems for data collection and preparation of unit budget

  • Prepare, monitor and justify project budgets according to hospital and funding agency specifications. Monitor expenses and identify and resolve errors or discrepancies. Maintain financial records and prepare related reports

  • Communicate project policies and procedures to contract and ancillary personnel at local study sites. Monitor and review data collection and computer entry, clinical testing, patient confidentiality and related activities to ensure compliance and consistency of application

  • Serve as liaison between local study sites and Clinical Coordinating Center regarding study procedures and operations and protocol interpretation. Ensure on site and subcontract operations are consistent with overall study requirements for database maintenance, coding, completion and computer input of study forms, deadlines and other related issues. Train local study personnel in use of computer system

  • Supervise collection, coding and computer entry of study data. Conduct periodic testing of data validity, identify and resolve any errors or discrepancies

  • Oversee development of computer applications and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of study operations and data management, such as patient appointment scheduling, and completion and tracking of study data and forms

  • Assist Principal Investigator in preparing new applications for research funding and in developing, implementing, and managing ancillary study grants


  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or Masters of Science and 2 yrs relevant work experience.

During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
