The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time Clinical Research Assistant I in the Early Psychosis Investigation Center (EPICenter), which is dedicated to understanding, identifying and treating children and adolescents with psychotic disorders. By focusing on early psychosis, we hope to identify the root causes of the illness, improving treatment options and outcomes for patients and their families.

At the EPICenter, (1) we work with children and adolescents with a psychotic disorder, regardless of diagnosis or comorbidity; (2) we focus on longitudinal assessments; and (3) we seamlessly integrate research and clinical care in order to provide the best possible treatment for participants.

The Clinical Research Assistant I will be responsible for:

  • Expedite ongoing Center projects under the supervision of the EPICenter Director, Associate Directors and coordinator.

  • Support EPICenter research by recruiting subjects for studies, conducting structured interviews, performing neuropsychological assessments and collecting specific data in a clinical environment according to specified sources and protocols.

  • Facilitate regulatory compliance, liaison with investigators at other sites, participate in teleconference calls and weekly team meetings.

  • Maintain databases, aid sample distributions and conduct literature research supporting publication efforts.

  • Assistance with general administrative tasks, including ordering and organizing project materials and activities such as phone & in-person meetings.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Well-developed communication skills in order to provide critical information to participants, work collaboratively on a team, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues.

  • Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

  • A 2 year commitment is highly recommended.
