Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as Chief of Staff for Security Architecture & Engineering. The ideal candidate needs to thrive on collaboration and be analytical and organized to execute in a fast-paced environment consisting of a broad range of skills and responsibilities, including security, software development, product management, and data science.

As a Chief of Staff, you will guide a combination of strategic planning and tactical coordination for numerous efforts throughout the security department and the entire company. You will collaborate with security professionals on cross-department initiatives including high-impact projects that aim to elevate the security posture of the company. You will also establish strong relationships with business partners throughout Autodesk to extend the reach of our program. You will also engage with senior management and executives on a routine basis to report on trends and action plans.

This role is a new position that will have a lot of freedom and autonomy to get things done. A security background is preferred, but not required. The position is based out of our Boston office.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders throughout Autodesk, including engineers, senior management, product management, and program management

  • Ensure cross-functional alignment and clarity of plans for strategic and tactical initiatives

  • Drive alignment of team Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

  • Define clear and succinct success criteria, including measurable metrics and KPIs

  • Lead and coordinate strategic and tactical staff meetings

  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and develop mitigation plans for improvement

  • Assist in crafting the strategic foresight of the organization

  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects

  • Identify trends and action items to senior leadership regarding the security posture of their organizations

  • Influence product development and roadmap prioritization

  • Leverage a creative mindset to solve challenging problems

  • Act as a sounding board for leadership, especially regarding strategy, team effectiveness, and operations

  • Think ahead and catch problems before they arise

  • Serve as a liaison with other departments

Minimum Qualifications

  • Program management experience in a security or software engineering field

  • Highly technical with both tactical and strategic capabilities

  • Decision maker with the ability to operate with freedom and autonomy

  • Flexible and proactive with high quality and accuracy

  • Emphasis on a data-driven, decision-making mindset

  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on inter-departmental communication

  • Experience with measurable goals and outcomes, including OKRs and KPIs

  • Experience working with distributed teams and other cross-functional stakeholders

  • Experience in an engineering or technical role delivering software solutions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong presentation and presentation development skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with security domains, such as application security, infrastructure and cloud security, incident response, and/or security compliance and certifications

  • Experience with cloud computing technologies

  • Experiencewith budget management
