Microsoft Corporation Business Risk Insurance Analyst, Global Treasury Financial Services in Boston, Massachusetts

Business Risk & Insurance team is looking for a finance/business professional who is passionate about analyzing business risk, is data driven, enjoys working through challenging business scenarios, and can deliver insights to drive timely decision making and support Microsoft risk framework. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment in a truly global role. This role is a solution-oriented position, with a need for sound judgment to select methods and techniques for risk mitigation.

This role will support senior business risk team members and will partner with various external insurance risk brokers to provide effective risk mitigation evaluation framework.


  • Guide business operations teams regarding risk management related topics

  • Lead data gathering and analysis process for insurance renewal submission process, in coordination with Business Risk and Insurance Team, internal stakeholders, and third parties

  • Assist in the insurance renewal negotiation process

  • Review renewal and mid-term certificate of insurance requests and coordinate with insurance broker for issuance

  • Manage and evaluate policy-term changes in risk and exposure, coordinating with Insurance Risk Manager, Director of Risk Management, and other stakeholders as needed

  • Participate in the budgeting process as needed

  • Review and submit invoices for payment

  • Support review of insurance requirements for contractual agreements, providing feedback to business operations teams


Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business AND 5+ years experience with background in treasury, finance, or accounting.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) AND AND 7+ years experience with background in treasury, finance, banking, or accounting.

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

  • Excellent project management and communication skills

  • Technology savvy and ability to bring together teams across the company and lead through influence and inclusion

  • Growth mindset and quick learner, agility in responding to new business challenges balanced with compliance focus

  • Data driven, change agent and proven skills to build and lead impact cross-functional teams

  • Bring people and teams along, lead with empathy, value diverse perspectives and deliver business results
