About the Job
As a Business Development Manager within the sales organization, you will focus on uncovering and winning new business opportunities in the technology space ? specifically within Software Vendors and Service Providers segments.
Devtech is all about delivering tangible outcomes to our customers and helping them accelerate innovation. To be successful at this, we need to identify and understand the challenges they face, and how we can help them. While you will have support from Cloud Consultants and Solution Architects internally for deeper technical discussions, it is expected that you have some technical/engineering background and are comfortable having an educated conversation with a customer.
In the COVID-19 world, we have moved all of our prospecting activities online and for the time being we are not doing business travel nor attending industry events in person. You?ll leverage your existing network to uncover new potential business opportunities, and use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ISVWorld, SalesIntel, etc. to find the right contacts and initiate conversations.
We?re all about strategic selling when we look at the type of technology professional services we offer to our customers. The goal is not to ?spray and pray?, but to be selective about who we want to work and engage with, doing your research and finding a good fit. Our sales cycles vary, they are typically 3 ? 9 months long and often involve senior level executives and decision makers on the customer side.
Winning a new logo is a team effort at Devtech. You will work with different people across our organization at different stages of the sales cycle. At the same time, while interacting with customers and prospects, you?ll want to establish credibility and trust that we know what we are talking about early on.
As we sign on a new engagement, you will work closely with our service delivery teams and customer?s stakeholders to keep an eye on timely and high-quality service delivery ? and most importantly, that we are meeting and exceeding our customer?s expectations. It is not one of those ?win it and forget about it? approaches.
Finally, our sales organization is in its early days (as is our marketing organization). You would have the opportunity to directly influence how we shape the organization and its processes.
We?re looking for candidates with a strong track record in successfully navigating and winning large, complex IT solutions and technology professional services deals. You have sold solutions similar to ours before. Ideally, you have a network of Software Vendors and/or Service Providers you could tap into to explore new opportunities.
You love to win, you?re energetic and you understand and appreciate team work. You?re comfortable working with people of different cultural backgrounds. You?re curious, and you love learning new things. Working remotely is not a challenge for you, and over the years you have built up your time management and organizational skills ? and you get things done, even if nobody is watching. We?re not fond of micromanaging.
This is a remote based, full-time position, and you could be located anywhere on the East Coast or the Central US.

The OTE is 50% base, 50% variable. The variable is uncapped.
