Meta Business Development Manager, Gaming in Boston, Massachusetts


Meta is seeking a Business Development Manager to help drive game and other interactive content deals for virtual reality (VR) across all regions. Meta Reality Labs brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software and platform. The focus of this role will be on managing multiple projects across a new industry and negotiating effectively across a wide spectrum of partners. This is a unique opportunity to help drive the future of VR by finding and creating the next generation of apps and helping to cultivate the developer ecosystem.The successful candidate is knowledgeable and passionate about the future of games and hardware, and the creation of new ecosystems. They must have experience effectively collaborating across a diverse organization of engineering, product and business entities to drive results.

Required Skills:

Business Development Manager, Gaming Responsibilities:

  1. Define, negotiate and close deals for game development, distribution, publishing and IP licensing

  2. Manage strategic partnerships with game publishers and IP licensors

  3. Operate effectively with external partners ranging from large game publishers and major media companies to small indie developers

  4. Partner closely with internal producers to support key titles on business and operational issues throughout development and post launch

  5. Partner cross-functionally with Content, Marketing, Legal, Finance and Engineering teams to negotiate deal terms, drive special projects, advocate internally for partners and educate on industry norms

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 15+ years of experience working in a business development, partnership or equivalent function role

  2. BA/BS degree

  1. Experience in the games industry partnering with developers, publishers and hardware platforms

  2. Experience in IP licensing

  3. Experience with leading a partnership from concept to legal agreement and launch

  4. Experience collaborating and leading cross-functionally with experience building consensus among multiple stakeholders in an entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment

  5. Quantitative analytical and communication skills

  6. MBA/JD degree
