The Business Banking Division provides banking products & services to local businesses with up to $25MM in annual sales. The Director of Product and Partnerships oversees the evaluation of market trends, product positioning, and maintains ongoing accountability for product profit and growth goals for cash management or related services managed by internal product organizations and delivered to Business Banking clients. S/he identifies areas of opportunity and champions modifications to the product line (changes, additions, etc) that will optimize sales opportunities, meet organization objectives, maintain the proper risk and control oversight, regulatory adherence, and enhance the customer experience. The director operates at a highly independent level, consulting with and advising management on the marketing implications of various actions.

Position Duties

  • Oversees and designs product strategies in partnership with internal product stakeholders from commercial and retail banking in support of the Business Banking organization’s goals and market needs. Responsible for meeting product profit and growth goals.

  • Oversees the evaluation of market trends, development, product position and pricing philosophy. Recommends enhancements to product lines to stimulate sales and meet objectives.

  • Develops marketing plan and product line objectives; including strategy and tactics; ensuring consistency with business line objectives and meeting product profit and growth goals.

  • Supports the design, development, implementation and enhancement of new or existing products and processes as a subject matter expert to meet the Business Banking objectives.

  • Manages the development of product pricing and profitability analysis and recommends pricing; manages the on-going research to track, monitor and analyze product performance, profitability and contribution.

  • Manages the development and maintenance of competitive analysis and market research of competing products and services to identify customer needs and trends; Reviews strategic product and market perspectives; evaluating long term effects and anticipating changes.

  • Generates promotions and campaign ideas and works closely with marketing or other internal shared services groups on the development of collateral material, advertising, promotional programs, sales training programs, operational procedures and systems requirements to ensure that sales departments are provided with appropriate sales, merchandising and administrative tools.

  • Reviews risk data related to product lines and ensures risks are effectively monitored and managed; Ensures delivery of products meet state and Federal regulatory requirements and coordinates legal re-view of all supporting collateral materials and documentation.

  • Support project management and acts as subject matter for business initiatives or process improvement projects. Works collaboratively with a wide variety of partners to move initiatives forward, achieve target dates and improve business results.

Qualifications

  • MBA is preferred; or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics and equivalent experience. At least 15 years.

  • Drive change through strong leadership

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of SME customer needs.

  • Extensive product knowledge and experience in the financial industry including working with commercial and retail metrics.

  • Strong financial and business analysis and financial modeling skills.

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
