WSP is currently initiating a search for a BIM Manager for our Boston, MA office. Be involved in projects with our Property and Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Provides subject matter technical design and BIM Revit/CADD support guidance, and oversight to ensure the production of project set up to be used for property and Buildings technical services business line. Provides guidance for multi-site/phase projects by providing coordination and oversight for BIM Revit/CADD set up on various multi-site/phase construction projects of moderate to larger scale, scope, and/or complexity. Responsible for providing situational guidance to design engineers, PMs and managers with applying and integrating drafting and design support data and perspective to solve project challenges, and to inform corrective/mitigation strategy development across a variety of disciplines for BIM models. Monitor and oversee any onsite activities to ensure that drafting and design support functional responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for project Set up. Manage set up staff and work with peers within other WSP offices to enhance knowledge of BIM Revit support.
Provide leadership and review of team’s projects to include staffing assignments, project delivery, as well as technical expertise on 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) work product; validating and signing off on the authenticity of work product.
Ensure the appropriate use of quality control standard and procedures for accurate and precise BIM Revit/AutoCAD work, measurements, documentation, analysis, and portrayal of incoming and existent data.
Acts as a lead consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution for project set up; often serving as Drafting/Design Support resource on a project or assist in overseeing Drafting/Design Support activities for projects of large scope and complexity within New Enland Region.
Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams in executing project work, including project budgets and task completion.
Ensure compliance with guidelines and project-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of any data collection, database, documentation, and the management of a digital library of drafting and design support documents in various file types.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors, and technical staff in a confident and professional manner.
Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
Remain current in latest drafting and design support practices, methods, procedures, subject matter, and techniques.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree in closely related discipline (or equivalent experience.)
10+ years of relevant post-education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
High-level experience with both public and private sector work (e.g. state, city, county, utility districts, and private land development.)
Highly proficient expertise with drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
Highly proficient expertise with relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Demonstrated technical competence leading and reviewing technical computations and calculations involving the application of geometry and mathematical concepts, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate standards or regulations.
Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing technical deliverables and work product with a high degree of complexity.
Strong proficiency coordinating with clients, regulatory and resource agencies, communities, and technical staff required.
Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
Extensive critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from research, data collation, calculations, statistical analysis and identifying the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Master’s Degree is preferred.
Essential professional licensure/certification.
