Job Description

The successful candidate will provide decision-making and leadership over a multitude of pricing projects, centered around the feasibility, design, modeling and reporting of complex insurance products and riders, balancing business unit marketing and financial goals. Adaptability to rapidly changing circumstances in the internal and external environments will be a key challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of diverse professionals that manage the development and launch of life and annuity products.

  • Ensure product initiatives meet marketing, profitability, and risk management goals while aligning with corporate guidelines and regulatory environment.

  • Member of the US Pricing leadership team responsible for coaching, directing, enabling, and developing a large, hard-working and highly engaged team of diverse actuaries and actuarial students.

  • Collaborate with a second-line risk oversight team to ensure strategic direction is aligned with corporate risk appetite.

  • Coordinate product development and pricing deliverables with highly specialized functional actuarial teams with deep expertise in rate making, modeling, controls / governance and assumption development.

  • Performing preliminary research and development and feasibility analysis to help prioritize potential critical initiatives.

  • Responsible for additional projects related to the department's strategic objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience.

  • Creativity and passion for innovation.

  • In depth knowledge of US Stat valuation and the regulatory environment for Fixed Annuity products.

  • Knowledge of US Stat valuation and the US regulatory environment for Life Insurance products preferred.

  • ​3+ years of experience with Pricing of life insurance required.

  • Knowledge of investment and hedging concepts of indexed products.

  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling software. Direct experience with Moody’s Axis preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving ability combined with very strong technical actuarial skills.

  • Risk management focus, with ability to see beyond traditional measures and identify emerging issues.

  • Ability to respond to changing demands from multiple partners and prioritize needs and results while working under deadline pressure.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$148,400.00 USD - $275,500.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
