As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.

The Associate Director will report to the Director of Sales Strategy and Implementation. As part of this team, they will lead the development and implementation of key Consumer and Business Banking Service and Sales initiatives.The role drive collaborate across lines of business to identify and improve strategic priorities that will support the retail environment in order to deliver the goals of the business. They will be responsible for delivering project plans, content, processes, routines, skill-builders, communications, etc. to support business priorities.


  • The Associate Director, Sales Strategy & Implementation will lead in the creation and implementation of key Sale’s process initiatives that impact Consumer and Business Banking.

  • The Associate Director will lead a project or projects that enable the successful delivery of customer experience, sales, and operational objectives for CBB.

  • The Associate Director will need to be create and maintain a good working environment within a highly collaborative team.

  • They will need to deliver shared goals by contributing ideas and leading through change.

  • The Associate Director will provide leadership within the line of business to ensure department success.

  • In order to achieve success they will need to organize and prioritize the workload and tasks for themselves and their team.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of major content and key processes that will enable the success of initiatives across all Lines of Business .

  • Responsibilities will also include the development, launch and ongoing management of major strategic initiatives such as the Santander Sales Process.



  • Proven track record at the District or Market level leading Retail Banking success.

  • Ability to deliver an initiative or initiatives with limited supervision and guidance.

  • Ability to influence senior-level leadership.

  • Ability to influence behavior without position of authority.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of effective workshop/training delivery.

  • Expert knowledge in the sales/service process.

  • Willing to travel as needed.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 10 or More years; In the Retail Branch Banking.

  • Minimum 3 years of District/Market Level Retail Banking Management Experience.

  • Ability to apply independent judgment.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications.

  • Highly organized and able to work independently.

  • Proficient with computers and common office software.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 12-15 years of professional experience.

  • Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
