Position Purpose:

The Asset Management Director will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of asset management teams to design, develop and implement asset management program initiatives across key strategic project locations across Veolia North America (VNA).

For the elements of the Asset Management Program, which are vital to the VNA Business (i.e. CMMS application), such initiatives will at times be carried out on the VNA Business Line level. The key objective of these initiatives is to enable the sites in meeting their required Levels of Service at desired performance levels, while managing risks and costs they are exposed to.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage Asset Management initiatives across a wide variety of sites, including power and steam generation, water and wastewater plants and other complex industrial plants.

  • Oversee, direct and supervise the development and implementation of a high-performing asset management program which incorporates a computerized maintenance management system, Hexagon EAM- VAMS (Veolia Asset Management System) Maintenance, Asset Lifecycle Cost and capital renewal planning and corresponding reporting, and KPI dashboards.

  • Organize and direct the operation of the computerized work management system (Infor EAMVAMS Maintenance) that plans and schedules work activities for the plant field staff, including planning, scheduling and coordinating the material, equipment and personnel requirement for projects and work orders in the way to properly reflect the Cost To Asset managed to maintenance budget and performance KPIs.

  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams in business segments regarding the refurbishment, repair or replacement of assets through risk assessment through Life Cycle Cost planning method and capital renewal tool (VAMS SINAPSE).

  • Organize and direct the development of the VAMS Analytics (Dashboards and KPIs), Reporting and VAMS Academy training portal for the VNA zone.

  • Coordinate and align asset management activities with the needs of each business segment and communications with other departments and divisions, outside agencies and organizations.

  • Develop and implement department and division asset management goals and objectives.

  • Coordinate and administer the work of asset management project contractors and consultants.

  • Ensure training, coaching and development of asset management personnel.

  • Analyze program data; recognize issues and trends; identify options, consequences, and develop conclusions and recommendations; prepare complex statistical reports and make presentations.

  • Collaborate with staff and management across the organization and with outside third parties to clearly identify, explain and communicate their project and/or program involvement and the goals, expectations, objectives, policies, priorities, and tasks associated with their project and/or program.

  • Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs and market demands to plan projects.

  • Confers with senior operations and maintenance managers to determine objectives, KPIs, cost feasibility and other customer requirements.

  • Directs personnel activities of the department such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations and salary adjustments.

  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, HexagonEAM and/or OWAM.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering required.

  • 10 + years industry experience in training, consulting & implementing Asset Management initiatives.

  • Successful candidates must have leadership skills, ability to take the initiative, assemble & lead cross-functional teams & manage complex operational and engineering projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good working knowledge of asset management, business processes, maintenance and reliability best practices.

  • Must be able to lead multiple improvement teams, network with appropriate professional organizations and maintain strong connections to technical organizations.

  • Organizational capability to work across multiple businesses, supply chains and systems and be able to communicate well with operators, mechanics, peers and senior leadership.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred or equivalent work experience.
