The Senior Manager, AEC Sustainability is accountable for leading strategy to position and extend Autodesk and Autodesk’s technology to transform the AEC industry to realize more sustainable outcomes. This person will be accountable for leading the identification and creation of customer and market insights, partnerships, and strategies that elevate Autodesk’s prioritization and positioning of new and existing sustainability-enabling technology for the AEC industry. Working across strategy, solutions, and go to market teams, this position will ensure strategic integration of sustainability and manage direct teams on strategy and research initiatives to accelerate that work. Not stopping at the walls of Autodesk, this sustainable built environment expert will be a visible leader, collaborator, and spokesperson to influence the policies, standards, and best practices to transform the AEC industry.
Develop & implement AEC product strategy for sustainability go-to-market activities:
Define and lead the organization’s unique ability to deliver sustainable value to AEC customers while differentiating itself from competitive offerings
Maintain clearly articulated narrative on Autodesk’s AEC customer needs and Autodesk’s relative readiness for senior management based on performing customer interviews, market and competitive research, and collaboration with customer success teams
Work closely with marketing teams to position Autodesk and priority solutions in relevant campaigns and thought leadership
Develop & implement strategy and programs to influence Autodesk technology to enable AEC customer sustainability:
Maintain clearly articulated point of view on Autodesk AEC customer’s current and future needs based on performing customer interviews, market research, and collaboration with customer success teams
Lead direct and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and validate new sustainability capabilities with proof-of-concept projects with strategic lighthouse customers and partners
Understand and shape the organization’s emergent offerings, anticipating new and improved opportunities to deliver sustainability value to customers
Develop business plans, strategies, and prioritization to influence the maintenance, development, and acquisition of priority market opportunities with product and strategy teams
Design programs with customer success teams to understand emerging customer requirements and position proof-of-concept to generate and validate emerging capabilities
Lead and influence the development, testing, and prototyping of new workflows with customers and partners to demonstrate market viability
Shape AEC industry policies, standards, and best practices through participation in industry groups, policy maker briefings, and events
Be a credible and global internal and external thought leader and evangelist for Autodesk’s sustainability-enabling AEC concepts, best practices, and solutions through speaking engagements, authored bylines, and maintaining relationships with industry thought leaders
Strategy ownership with demonstrated ability to develop industry-defining strategies and execution plans, balancing both short-term priorities with long-term vision and executive-level communication with technical and industry-appropriate specialization
Extensive experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or design
Demonstrated leader and people manager with experience managing staff, teams, partners, consultants, and suppliers - with and without authority
Strong program manager, with experience building and maintaining large and multi-stakeholder projects, programs, and initiatives
Experience performing and summarizing market research, customer interviews, and analyses of trends, foresight, and competition
Excellent written and verbal communicator, collaborator, and facilitator, with experience translating complex technical concepts for non-technical teams and to large audiences, executives, customers, and technical teams
Demonstrated expertise with issues relating to energy, water, materials, and resilience

Maintains a technical mindset, with ability to quickly become comfortable with new technologies
MA/MS or 12 years relevant experience
