The Account Manager position is responsible for growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within assigned accounts and/or territory/region on products or services. Establishes professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts. Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars.

The Account Manager position is critical in managing accounts through direct and/or dealer relationships. The Account Manager must build and maintain customer relationships while driving sales growth; must identify and drive sales opportunities through all LMS applications (excluding Medical). This role is responsible for complete product portfolio management.

Prospecting: Develop strategies designed to increase sales of Leica microscopy products in assigned territory.

Need Analysis: Identify customer needs and evaluate a solution.

Customer Solution: Coordinate and/or conduct product demonstrations.

Closing the deal: Responsible for moving successful demonstration to order for widefield. Manager follow-up with Purchasing/Price Admin

Installation: Assist in installs, obtain documentation, signatures, forecast revenue recognition date, and arrange training.

Customer satisfaction: Exceeds customer needs by identifying and utilizing appropriate team resources.

Requirements:

  • BA / BS or MS degree in biology or chemistry, or a related scientific field

  • 3+ years successful selling products of a technical nature

  • Previous Sales experience of Microscopy highly preferred

  • Large Account Management Relationships combined with above

  • The candidate must live in the Boston area and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time

Desired qualifications express expectations for ideal/fully proficient candidates; equivalent experience will also be considered.
