Responsible for development, execution and communication of financial objectives, strategies and budget plans that support a specific department(s)/division(s) within the company.
Drives financial results that are responsible for maximizing the retail department(s)/division(s) profitability.
Typically reports to a Division/Regional Planning Manager.
Performs a wide variety of professional level planning functions.
Creates annual tops down and bottoms up sales, margin and inventory budgets for designated divisions.
Provides sales analysis, assortment planning, sales planning and maintenance, and inventory management for the organization.
Develops monthly forecast of sales, margin and inventory plans.
Analyzes historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities.
Works with management to identify business trends, maximize opportunities, minimize risks, discusses product promotions, ad/circulars, and product transitions.
Works with analytical staff on the receipt plan and identifies open to buy risk impacting department/division turn goals.
Communicates financial results, forecasts, and action plans on a periodic basis.
Collaborates with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge.
Creates annual and monthly purchase plans.
Collaborates on receipts and sales forecast with vendors, product managers and inventory management team.
May plan and execute new store openings as they come up and communicate plan to distributor.
May provide technical guidance to lower level staff.
Bachelor’s Degree Required. 2 years - 4 years
