Town of Billerica Seasonal Civil Engineering Intern in Billerica, Massachusetts
The Town of Billerica seeks applicants for the position of Seasonal Civil Engineering Intern Length of Internship: May to August 2024 Duties Candidate will work directly with the Engineering Division staff on various projects throughout the Town of Billerica including tasks related to compliance with EPA?s NPDES Stormwater Phase 2 program and permits (including field work). Requirements Knowledge of Engineering concepts. Ability to read various types of civil engineering site plans. Driver?s License Own transportation to/from the office Be prepared to spend some time in the field (requires appropriate field boots). Must carry own insurance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but not be limited to: Assist the Engineering Staff with various engineering projects. Assist with the requirements of the Stormwater Management Program, this may involve: Locate drain maps either electronically or manually by reviewing through files Scanning plans GPS mapping of drainage structures Some field verification of drainage structures Inspecting drainage features and outfalls Testing outfalls for pollutants Hours/Rate of Pay: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday, excluding Holidays Up to 37.5 hours/week \$17.50/hour For additional information and how to apply, please email timothy.hovey@masshirelowellcc.com
