Baker Hughes Proposals Specialist in BILLERICA, Massachusetts
Role Summary:
In the role of Proposals Specialist, you will:
Essential Responsibilities:
Specify, configure and / or design appropriate product offering to meet customer’s process and instrumentation requirements
Review customer’s technical specifications, including formal RFQ's (Request for Quote), working closely with Commercial Managers to prepare detailed proposals for competitive solutions
Define all special product requirements in support of quotation generation and order acceptance
Primary technical contact for pre-sale support for customers and field sales force
Support Sales team with technical meetings, presentations, demonstrations, etc at customer sites
Perform detailed technical review on new project orders, working closely with Commercial Managers, Project Engineers and Project Managers to ensure smooth transition to Supply
Design and/or specify customized parts to ensure compatibility of product with customer requirements
Interface with customers, suppliers, vendors and internal cross functional teams as necessary, to ensure smooth order execution
Attend order kickoff meetings, as necessary, with the OTR & Project Management teams
Evaluate special items for TRS compliance
Release Engineering, TRS and other technical/product related blocks
Oversee the preparation of drawings, technical documents and Manufacturing Record Dossier for specific orders in line with the established ISO compliant documentation system
Qualifications/Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 1 year of experience with process / industrial instrumentation
Eligibility Requirements:
- Travel up to 15% of the time, as required
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience with process / industrial instrumentation
Direct customer contact experience
Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings/specifications
Experience using SAP Data Management software systems
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience using SAP Data Management software systems
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills
Strong customer orientation
Ability to interface effectively with multiple functional teams
