Cabot Corporation Process R&D Co-op, Energy Materials in Billerica, Massachusetts
The process engineering R&D Co-op in Energy Materials assists Billerica Energy Materials Process Engineering team to design, build, and operate process equipment and support new product development for batteries. Candidate will be responsible for working closely with Process R&D team to develop and implement a test system to test fluidization behavior of carbon blacks.
Develops and maintains process equipment; maintains a high standard for safety.
Studies fluidization behavior of carbon black under varied conditions and particle properties.
Design of experiments, discussions with engineering staff, sample preparation, experiment execution, and sample analysis.
Data analysis to include statistical regression, advanced model fitting, and mechanistic hypothesis testing.
Supports engineering staff in day-to-day activities.
Chemical (preferred) or Materials Engineering coursework
University level laboratory experience
Experience writing formal laboratory reports
Computer skills (MS office, LabVIEW)
Strong sense of accountability and ownership, particularly with Safety
General mechanical interest and aptitude
