Baker Hughes Measurement & Sensing Communications Leader in BILLERICA, Massachusetts

Role Summary:

The Measurement & Sensing (M&S) Communications Manager is the focal point for all internal and external communications related to the product line, within the Measurement & Controls business (M&C), ranging across the energy and primary adjacent sectors (automotive, aviation, and industrial sectors). As a strategic advisor to the M&S leadership teams, and working directly with the M&C Communications

Leader, the successful candidate will develop and execute comprehensive communications programs for the business. This includes accountability for new product launches and ongoing promotions of new technologies, products and services – direct and through channels, executing customer experience strategies, segment-specific storytelling and positioning, commercial and sales win amplification, and developing brand management campaigns with order-driving results to support products and services’ value proposition across a highly technical flow business and multiple industries. This role will also drive PR and thought leadership for the business, while establishing and executing an employee communications and culture strategy and rhythm.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Measurement & Sensing Communications Leader, you will:

  • Lead commercial and businessstorytelling globally, developing compelling content to position thebusiness’ technologies, customers and people for both internal andexternal audiences

  • Drives the commercialcommunication strategy and execution for global products, and industrysegments across M&S, integrating where possible with cross-industryvisibility across the M&C business

  • Works closely with othercommunication colleagues, sales and commercial teams, project and productmanagers / leaders to implement fully-integrated new product introductionand go-to-market communications plans

  • Leads M&S’ customer eventsprogram, partnering with vendors and suppliers as needed to overseelogistics and management for strategic events globally

  • Develops, tracks and sharescollaborations which includes working closely with the M&CCommunications Leader to align on business-wide priorities, industrytargets and campaign themes

  • Leads brand management forM&S’ three product brands – Druck, Panametrics and Reuter-Stokes – andoversees rebranding programs

  • Participates as a strategicadvisor to the M&S leadership teams and actively engages with membersof the business across staff meetings, QMI reviews and strategic /operational discussions for customer commercial campaigns / needs

  • Builds and manages content forexternal-facing digital channels including the M&S website andcustomer communications portals

  • Produces a variety of tools andmaterials to support deals and wins announcements, demand creation,product launches, product re-launches and ongoing commercialization,installed base and field marketing, creative content and company materials

  • Partners closely with HR todevelop an employee engagement program to create awareness, celebrate businesswins and drive the Baker Hughes culture, amplifying across Digital Solutionsand the Baker Hughes portfolio

  • Develops relationships withcritical industry trade media, and serves as advisor to the business forall trade media, as well as partnering closely with the Baker HughesCommunications team for Tier 1 media opportunities

  • Builds, maintains and leadsworking relationships with sales and commercial, project and productmanagers and the broader communication community ensuring effectivecollaboration and global coordination of activities

  • Analyzes and measures resultsof promotional initiatives and makes adjustments in strategy / executionas appropriate

  • Is accountable for budgetactivity strictly related with the activities associated with the role,ensuring proper management and ROI assessment to ensure that all resourcesare being used efficiently and productively

  • In partnership with M&SCommunication Leader keeps the leadership team informed of progress anddevelopment of all relevant customer-communications, internalcommunications and media-related project / issues

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’ Degree in incommunications or marketing from an accredited college oruniversity or equivalent knowledge/experience

  • Considerable experience incommunications in an international environment

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Travel 25% of the time, asrequired

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong experience withcommunications tools and techniques and related developments such asdemand generation tools, social media and campaign marketing/advertising

  • Previous experience in brandmanagement and media relations/PR is required.

  • Strong writing experience forbusiness environments.

  • A genuine understanding of flowbusiness promotional strategies and engagement tactics including modernengagement trends and practices

  • Both a strategist and an ablehands-on practitioner

  • A reliable project manager,carrying out and directing the work of other people and suppliers todeliver projects on time and budget.

  • Copes well working on a numberof different tasks, sometimes with conflicting deadlines and underpressure

  • Ability to effectively interactand influence in line with objectives at all levels of the organizationfrom senior level executives to all other employment segments, andeffectively manage in a matrix organization

  • Comfortable working in globalenvironments and across time zones

  • Direct management of brand andPR/media relations campaigns

  • Mentoring/supervisoryexperience is desirable

  • Strong interpersonal,influencing and leadership skills

  • Good attention to detail andaccuracy

  • A confident, proactiveself-starter who truly enjoys the hands-on aspects of marketingcommunications

  • Approach effectivecommunications plans with a creative and analytical mind

  • Proven ability to work with 3rdparty agencies (PR, advertising, digital) to drive success

  • Understanding of measurementand evaluation
