Microchip Technology Sr. Engineer I - Process Integration in Beverly, Massachusetts
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Process Engineer will:
Support transition of new products from design to production
Develop testing methodologies for new products
Design and validate new test stations and fixtures
Create engineering documentation (change notices, parts lists, bills of materials, test reports, and test procedures)
Provide technical guidance to production test technicians pertaining to failure analysis, test methodology, and corrective actions
Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures and document and identify corrective actions
Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues
Optimize processes to reduce cost and increase throughput
Maintain processes and procedures in accordance with AS9100 standards
Determine, create and analyze metrics to target cost improvements
Support hardware integration and test
Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electronic systems and equipment used in manufacturing
Knowledge and experience:
Experience with electronics manufacturing.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Lean manufacturing, Kanban, 6S, 6 Sigma etc.
FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Ability to develop ATE and bench test systems using standard lab equipment; network analyzer, power meter, RF signal generator, etc.
Experience using LabVIEW, LabWindows, Visual Basic or C
Design of evaluation PCBs, probe cards, and test fixtures
Ability to layout electrical circuit and schematics
Experience with AutoCAD and related design and layout software tools
Experience using Six Sigma or working in a Lean Manufacturing environment
Experience utilizing SPC or DOE
Incumbent may sit in a stationary position for a long period of time.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift 25-50 pounds.
Must have the ability to multi-task, often performing multiple functions simultaneously.
