ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Facilitate and participate in completing daily tasks including:
Evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials (including production fallout, customer returns, technical service nonconformance submissions, etc.).
Maintain required Quality records and documentation.
Conduct factory audits, on site in the contracted manufacturers and suppliers facility to review/qualify production line for existing products and NPI, and verify engineering change and manufacturing procedure changes.
Meet and maintain ISO9001, lean activities, and Sensitech Carrier Excellence standards.
Participate as an auditor on the Internal Audit Team.
Periodically review existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with current practice, and Sensitech’s Quality Management System. Revise procedures as needed.
Provide monthly metrics and detailed reports to management as required.
Facilitate responses to complaints, and manages communications in response to product or process issues.
Collaborate with internal departments ensuring that major product issues are properly addressed.
Act as liaison between Quality, Support Services, and Engineering for escalation of product and service issues. Work directly with Engineering to resolve design or manufacturability issues when/if they are found to be suspect as the failure mode.
Monitor suppliers’ performance to meet Sensitech quality standards.
Communicate with contracted manufacturers/suppliers, and document the quality issues for quality improvement.
Lead and motivate the contracted manufacturers/suppliers through the process of problem definition, root cause analysis, solution finding, implementation, and on-site verification to meet due dates.
Provide diagnostic support and trend analysis in determining failure modes (design vs. workmanship vs. handling), and in identifying root causes.
Analyze product/process failures, develop corrective, and preventive action in response to customer complaints.
Oversee quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collection, and makes recommendations of solutions for improvement opportunities.
Participate in generating transition plans for new product launch and support.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or equivalent education/professional training along with an extended work experience in a Quality/Engineering role.
Minimum of five years’ experience in electronic product manufacturing quality including supplier quality management, and supplier quality system assessment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to communicate with co-worker, suppliers and Sensitech global personnel in an accurate and professional manner.
Strong knowledge in electronic product manufacturing control, and quality problem solving tools, such as 8D corrective/ preventive action, FMEA, etc.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
Solid understanding of electronic component and product assembly processes in high volume industry, GSM/GPS knowledge is preferred.
Ability to handle internal and external customers with tact and patience.
Knowledge of, and practical use of SPC.
Highly organized self-starter, able to work independently, proactive, and willing to learn.
ISO 9001 and Lean quality system knowledge. (Certified Six Sigma Black or Green belt is preferred.)
Some travel required.
Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements
Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards
Attend scheduled EH&S training program
Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans
Recommend improved EH&S practices
